It’s not just about personalities for me, though. She is unnecessarily rude and disrespectful. As far as I know, there is some kind of code of conduct that judges are supposed to follow. This chick has to be breaking it. She is also judgmental about personal issues that many times have nothing to do with the case. I

I feel like this is the appropriate place to tell this story: I dressed up as RBG on Halloween, and SO MANY people asked me if I was Judge Judy. Her influence on the American psyche should not be underestimated.

Also-the 2007 issue.

This butthurt on the still RARE occasion that (white) men are excluded from a powerful group, after CENTURIES of comprising the totality of such groups, is really tiresome. Try to be a good sport once in awhile, FFS.

It’s nice to see that this rich woman will be able to monetize her experiences in prison unlike a majority of her fellow inmates.

Jesus Christ you have a teen daughter.

Yup, the tired and true “I want to go have my fun and stick my dick in everything, and then I want a nice girl who has been patiently waiting for me with her legs closed to take care of me and have/raise my kids. What? Those nice girls have needs and desires of their own that don’t revolve around me?! WHORES! THEY

I think older, professionally successful people of both genders (but more likely men) can sometimes feel entitled to a ‘reward’ or ‘prize’ of a younger, attractive spouse.

I blame “King of Queens” and every Adam Sandler movie ever for making unappealing guys believe they are all entitled to date/marry super models.

Hm. I don’t know. I’ve seen men go gaga over smart women. And I’ve seen plenty of women go after unambitious/financially insecure guys.

I’ve never met a women who is my intellectual superior.

You articulated my feelings exactly! I’ve dated men before who weren’t necessarily intimidated by my intellect, but they also couldn’t appreciate it as a crucial part of who I am. For me to truly open up to someone, they must be able to understand how I think, and value what I think about.

Yes; this is very true.

Over the holidays, I was eavesdropping on my brother and his friend talking about girls, and my brother has a girlfriend right now, but things are just kinda eh between them. And he said that he’s afraid he won’t find another girl on his same social intelligence level. I actually did a spit take, which sucked because

I’m not sure it’s true that women want someone who is ambitious and financially secure. In the past that may have been true when we had little means of becoming financially independent. But now, at least, most of my female friends and myself look for a man who will treat us as an equal and support us emotionally.

I think men and women do not necessarily want something else - but men already KNOW that they will be appreciated for their intellect - we grow up being taught again and again that smarts is attractive in a guy. For women, however, we learn that we are defined by our (interchangeable and fading) looks, but since we

Agree. If he’d married a 50 year old molecular biologist with some gray hair and a few wrinkles, then he can be used as an example. Otherwise, nope.

It’s just like you’d guess: Men primarily want younger, more attractive women, and women primarily want someone ambitious with financial stability. Again, this isn’t new. We know that high-achieving women have famously complained of a lack of eligible men they consider their intellectual equals. Heartthrob George

It’s not just his production company. It’s all the movies he’s directed as well. They’re complete vanilla-y sausage fests. Barely a person of color or that many women. These are movies where he had the literal choice to create opportunities for non-white non-males and he dropped the ball.
