I feel like the reviewer docks points for this season's lack of crazy Norma moments. I loved that stuff too, but… Norma's gone. The apparition isn't her, so it's appropriate that Norman can't just conjure up her entire essence in his head. There should be a sense of loss.
This show is the most respectful thing attached to the series since Psycho II; the way the franchise has been dragged through the mud (including by Bloch himself), declaring the latest episode a bridge too far is a bit much. Even Stefano's Psycho script isn't the first version of the story… I mean, there is a very…
I actually think Ratner did about as good a job as anyone could have. I'd even say he went above and beyond for Charles' death scene — I remember it at the time being described as "Akira-like beauty" and I don't think that's at all hyperbolic.
Taker is an underrated seller, partially because his character has had so few opportunities to display that fact. He's so good that a lot of people immediately jump to "old man lol" when he's just trying to sell a beat down.
I love that there are people here seriously pissed off about the show's version of Music Meister. Is nothing sacred to you, Berlanti!?
They're already doing "Darkness, No Parents". Two would be too many I think.
That's just objectively inaccurate. If you skipped this episode entirely, you'd have no idea why Barry and Iris are back together after ending their relationship. It was hugely consequential.

Ah, Elvis's iconic "awkward martini mixing" move!

Two and a half?
A fake body can be whatever you want it to be, because it's a designer body. This raises an interesting series of questions, not that the movie will have the guts to go there, of course. Is a person who switches bodies obligated to maintain the stereotypical physical aspects of their birth race? Is a born-white…

"We'll give you the characters, and the story, and the Bates building designs, but the music stays with us!"
Wonderful episode. My only complaint is that they didn't go full Herrmann during any point in the episode. Sure, the composer teased the hell out of the original score, but never offered a full quote. Closing out this episode with the Psycho title theme would have been so great.
Juno.
The marijuana subplot could definitely be shaky, but I don't think that's completely fair. Dylan and his unclefather did manage to get a fair amount of character development from it. The B-Plots also gave Romero some fun moments and contributed to Chick's conflict with Caleb.
