Pacific Pickle Co has a great michelada shrub (more of a Cuban style without tomato). I use Modelo Especial over ice, that shrub (usually 1 oz to a 12 oz beer), roasted ground cumin, celery salt, and a Tajin rim for my micheladas.

+1 to your point about replacing vodka in a bloody mary with...well, just about any other liquor. I’m a fan of a nice rye in there.

Michelada is alright, but I’d rather just have a bloody mary and a beer on the side instead. Don’t see a point in watering down a beer with tomato juice. And a red beer is just a poor man’s Michelada.
