Looks great, shame that Nissan is strangling Mitsubishi and thus we’ll never see it in the states. 

I think the real issue is gears, I think, since all the players are now using 8-10 speeds. 6 speeds wouldn’t cut it even if they got a gas motor for it.

The correct avenue would be to throw in the same engine that powers the new Outlander PHEV. Great range and I think it’s capable of about 40 miles on pure electric power. I rode in one a couple of months ago and I was impressed. Plenty of power and low end torque. That would be an amazing package in this truck.

Dunno about Triton's market prospects over here in US, but the good news is that the next Nissan Navara will also be based on Mitsubishi’s basic design. So that truck may actually become competent finally. And maybe that will eventually be carried over to our Frontier? Crossing fingers.

This design language works well on the new Outlander, and it somehow works even better as a pickup. The interior looks pretty good too. Props to Mitsubishi for pulling it together here. Also those figures on the 2.4D are strong.

TO bad Mitsu has essentially zero market share in the states.  It’s a pretty handsome truck IMO.
