Some rich people do EVEN WORSE things... like NOT DRIVE THEM AT ALL! I would much rather see a scratched up driven to hell car, than a garage/trailer queen.
Watching these guys heel-toe is amazing. My feet are way too big to accomplish that kind of heel-toe, I have to roll left to right to accomplish the same thing, which isn't confidence inspiring.
Everybody can see the pucks on a cyclist's knees. What few people notice, is some of the riders wear them on their elbows too. For a reason.
Problem with F1 is if you are not in a winning package, people do not fully see your level of talent. It's pretty hard to brag about a 10th place finish for a Caterham even though it is more impressive than a victory for a Red Bull.
