The Final Days of Gawker Have Come

It’s 2023 and nobody has figured out how to have real-time inventory checks that work both online and on-prem. Meanwhile every application I’ve seen that tries to alleviate the shortcomings in a company’s ERP system is immediately fucked on day one and will be forever fucked even after the company invests in another

This pandemic revealed how much work is done by individuals showing up to do their job.

But it wasn’t available on any streaming services so we’d have to rent it, even though Roku and other websites said otherwise.

Well better to pull the plug now than to ruin Naughty Dog in the long run. Also, as someone who loathes all those live-service “games” of today, I am really not seeing this as a loss at all...

The really sad part. I guarantee that they have working builds that are exactly what we wanted. I bet that the only part that failed was the GaaS part. They couldn’t figure out how to string that content along for 2-3 years. I don’t need to play the same game for years. I want a really enjoyable experience for 2-3

it was just a horde mode that could benefit your ending. they could have said nothing about it, launch it as a bonus to the fandom and people would have praised it. Letting marketing near it was the bad choice in this case

GOOD! I hate this trend in which Singleplayer games need to get Online tacked on. Let Online games be Online games and Singleplayer games be kept pure!

I would’ve loved a Jill and Torgal focused epilogue dlc. Jill was especially poorly handled in the game despite being the most interesting of the companions just on a narrative basis. But then it is exceedingly rare to see a Japanese developed game handle women who talk well.

It was mediocre and seemed like it was tacked on pointlessly until they started to actually support it with additional classes.  By the time they stopped adding new content, you could actually believe that people other than the Normandy Crew were capable of fighting back.

Feels suspiciously to me like sabotage, being honest. All Bungie even HAS is games as a service; if NG ended up producing a successful GaaS using TLoU, it'd only further accelerate Bungie's decline. I dunno, that seems like an obvious conflict of interest to me.

It’s even more ironic when they bought bungie to help make GAAS games, shortly before bungie imploded and literally decimated their workforce.

The funny thing about that observation, is that originally players didn’t want multiplayer in ME3. It felt tacked on, and many people felt that it was a super weird move, and strictly for money, back then.
It’s only after it was shown to actually be pretty good, that people warmed to it.

Some people love the setting. Not enough, I'd bet. You're not wrong about the combat.

The combat isn't even all that great. I don't know why anyone would want to play an online shooter based on this over practically anything out there already

Good. It’s such a shame they wasted so many resources on this that could have gone into making something worthwhile.

I didn’t even know this game was a thing. I found out about it by finding out it was cancelled.
Good call either way.

It is so weird that when people actually want multiplayer, studios can’t deliver but when no one actually wants it they’re suddenly ready to tack it on.

Doesnt bode too well for Sony’s strategy of attempting to launch a dozen live service games if they cant even get one off the ground.

So the whole reason they opted not to include multiplayer in Part Deux and then charged more for a remake of the first game without it is now dust. Wonderful. God I feel like 2023 is the year of commenting how bad I feel for the regular folks at Naughty Dog.

does it let you escape the game’s gross button mashing action gameplay and replace it with something that would make it worth playing?
