Nothing I saw yesterday led me to believe this is an either/or scenario.
Nothing I saw yesterday led me to believe this is an either/or scenario.
I wouldn’t have that worry based on what I saw yesterday. I think it’s more like Mass Effect where you had a lot of core content, and then other worlds that were there to explore and take in the atmosphere (or lack thereof!)
I’m going to reserve judgement until I see more of the meat of the gameplay. Yesterday was a very broad overview of the scale of the game, and I don’t think it’s fair to hold the *idea* that they won’t execute against them.
it was probably shoulders or back, which is not an excuse but it’s definitely less graphic and headline-grabbing than “watching porn”
This has every right to kick ass but I can’t help but want just a normal cell-shaded skateboarding game now. Like THPS with this art style and good music.
Biggest mistake 343 made was diving into the lore, which is totally inconsequential to the original trilogy and what made them fun and interesting and mysterious. Halo lore is ass.
Reach gameplay did a much better job on this front (with the UNSC Army soldiers, technically, not UNSC marines) but everyone on Reach dies anyway. So... hmm.
I don’t really see the difference. You are an Xbox gamer on your PC. As soon as Xbox releases a streaming puck, that’s how I’ll play Xbox. So it’s not really about the console as much as the ecosystem.
Nah, there’s lots of room for improvement, both in terms of viral evolution (which also carries the risk of regression) and more importantly, therapeutics. We have multivalent vaccines on the horizon, and those might be what really put the nail in the pandemic’s coffin.
I have an Xbox Series X and PS5 and honestly I never touch the PS5. It’s a great exclusive machine but the Xbox continues to surprise and impress me. Yes, a lot of its heavy-hitter exclusives aren’t here yet, but they have a lot of promise once they do land, and Game Pass has been an absolute dream, not to mention the…
Left 4 Dead nailed it by actually making the creepy stuff feel creepy. The zombies are closer to rage monsters from 28 Days Later (I guess still technically zombies) and move in such an animalistic, rabid way that it’s always very fun to interact with them. That’s something that Back 4 Blood really lacks, despite…
When we say “vote!” we don’t mean for Biden, we mean in local elections. That’s how the country changes.
The story in every FROM game is always exceptionally simple too, if you don’t care about the history of the world or the surrounding context.
Maybe my post was too vague but that’s basically what I was trying to say. They create atmosphere that’s meticulously crafted to provoke the audience’s imagination to fill in the blanks. A lot of really memorable games do this—Half Life 2, Halo, etc. It’s a sign of a really compelling world, one that’s compelling and…
I’m pretty convinced the dude getting stomped by Soldier 60 times was for sure a joke submission but it’s still a lot of fun to see. I love these games—what outsiders often miss about FROM worlds is that they’re obtuse and vague and mysterious, but meticulously crafted and very intentional, so that the mystery is…
In every FROM game there is one boss I just cannot figure out on my own, and for me it was Malenia. I think it’s because I tend to play as a very traditional knight with sword/shield quality build, so her ability to heal by attacking me even when I blocked was really annoying. Ended up beating her with some helpful…
BL4 should borrow as much as possible from BL2's gameplay and Wonderland’s writing (which, while still grating, is at least less embarrassing than BL3).
While I wish we had more authentic US Army shooters (like the classic Ghost Recon games, or even strategic games like Full Spectrum Warrior) on console, I’m not bothered by the goofy CoD DLC. The games have done a pretty good job in the past few years mixing authentic skins and weapons for those who want them with…
I honestly prefer the M rating. I think it adds a little more heft to the combat, which can feel pretty mindless anyway, especially in a game where corpses disappear.
I didn’t mean to imply Rockstar was to blame necessarily for the NPC “hunting” videos, only using it as an example of how a GTA game’s handling of ethnicity produced a “punching down” humor outcome.
