What about the Ford GT as an exception? Selling for $140,000 new in 2005 and now regularly sells for around $300,000. That’s pretty good for 10 years.
That’s spot on. I would not personally consent to a credit check before test driving a car for that exact reason. If you are test driving all over town and leaving hard credit checks in your wake by the time you pick the car it could have an effect.
It’s not terribly uncommon to ask for this however I always prefered to work numbers and make sure the car was in the customer’s budget before test driving a limited production or in-demand car. I usually subscribe to the "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything" school of commenting but that last photo hurts my eyes. Ease off the filters, color temperature adjustments, contrast, whatever else was done.
