I was thrown off by this too. All this talk of 5 cylinder engines is really strange... A quick trip to the Volvo website might be necessary research before writing a story about their engines but what do I know I’m not an automotive journalist.

Um, if you already know everything about the car and the competition, then why do they need to know anything. It sounds like you went in there to show off and prove how much you know. I’m sure they were all suuuper impressed and worshipped you like the product knowledge god you clearly are. I bet if you read the notes

I don’t think we really do deserve it (as the headline reads) considering we, as a country don’t buy these kind of cars. It’s a shame for the enthusiasts like myself that would love a chance to buy one of these or even a FiST at this point but for automakers it doesn’t make dollars so it doesn’t make sense. We have to

Ughh, jealous!

Is a problem when the adjective “quantitatively” is used in the title and then the article is pretty much all conjecture

Holy shit, that's way better

This is some solid Torch’. I laughed my ass off and I’m not even a Star Trek fan.

Lexus only uses CVTs for their low volume hybrid variants of the ES, NX and RX (and formerly the Ct200h) as fara I’m aware. Everything else (the vehicles it sells in appreciable quantity) gets a pretty decent 6 or 8 spees auto.

Subaru uses a CVT in nearly every car and they’re doing well.

Am I the only one that cringes when watching this? Dude’s trying a little too hard. Not all cars can be a pure as a 2CV. Luckily Ford still makes a V8 Mustang. A fantastic 4 cyl mustang with a recent upgrade to the track focused package. A flat plane crank V8 Mustang that revs to infinity with an exhaust note that

LOL put a relavent modern drivetrain in Tacoma and people would “by" it as you say.  But why bother? People keep buying that fossil with a fucked driving position regardless. Tacoma jaggoffs are worse than “if we just had wagons in america” dipshits.

This. So many times this.

Ford, and to a lesser extent GM, got rid of sedans and small cars ENTIRELY. The smallest thing you can get at Ford starting next year is the Ecosport. That’s insane.

This is so true. Once an aluminum bike has a dent, it’s done. Like flicking a beer can. Carbon bikes can be repaired, even after catastrophic damage.

Robb Holland is good Jalopnik

Most of the “vegan leather” these days is fantastic and most people cannot tell the difference. It can have better wear resistance since it’s dyed all of the way through and some of them are recyclable!. I don’t think that’s the problem as it’s very different than the “pleather” of your day.

Thank you sir! It was certainly a target rich environment.

The event was great! Great people and some amazing cars. I hope it returns next year with even more cars and a better parking lot. Saw so many great cars street parked when we left would have loved to be able to browse a parking lot.

Well played
