even similar to any materials in its training set.

The technology is going to put steal a lot of jobs from artists. The same artists that it used to train on cannibalizing the whole art industry. The extent that this stuff can output “novel” images is entirely dependent on artists creating new work.

Which is the problem and the topic of discussion even if you’d like to pretend otherwise.

It’s a little funny for someone to be doing a standard interview about their Star Wars movie instead of “Uhhh, they say we’re still making it, we’ll see. Fingers crossed!”

And to be honest I’m already more interested in Andor’s legacy than the sequel trilogy’s.

Disney has really been chewing through Star Wars directors and projects. With Trevorrow it seems like it really was just based on Book of Henry being a total disaster.

Rogue One as well. I’ve heard it was the same deal offered to Lord and Miller, they could get credit and stay on the set while another director takes over. Edwards took it while Lord and Miller walked. Either way Gilroy did a ton of reshoots.

I’m now less certain what you mean.

See, this is my point. I think they are 100% equivalent movies. Equally mediocre except that, somehow, one made billions and the other is totally forgotten. One isn’t better than the other; Avatar doesn’t have better acting or writing, and Gods of Egypt, to the extent that I can remember either movie, probably had the

My take is that Alita Battle Angel felt like a fan edit of some Alita trilogy that cut a lot of scene setting, quiet moments, and the better third of a love triangle while keeping all the action. Just really overstuffed while not spending enough time with characters to be invested.

If the Gods of Egypt director spent a decade telling you they were going to make 4 more of the things, and people got mad at if you for pointing out it wasn’t very good you might also express doubt and confusion about the it.

B2EMO’s charging station is basically a little dog bed!

It’s encouraging to hear people are liking more than the first, but that could basically mean anything. I’m curious to see what full reviews say, and maybe comparisons to other movies.

The Bear was a comedy?

I heard about The Peripheral literally for the first time days ago when I came across concept art (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/4XJvA1) on ArtStation. I don’t know how much got translated, but it piqued my curiosity

I’m not sure if there has been any mention of the Matilda Musical, but I came across a clip and it actually looks really good. And hey, it’s scifi

Mad God is such a hellish nightmare. That would be a really interesting team up even if I’m not sure stop motion can capture the shapeshifting described by del Toro.

It might be the prosthetics more than workout. I think I remember the tattoos are a bunch of small pieces.

Personally I thought the quality of the CGI was superb, but I found the art design of the alien environment lacking. The story was mediocre and I doubt the sequel is somehow going to a much, much better story. I’m already skipping most of the big CGI heavy action adventure movies that come out.

Luthen? I go back and forth on him. I love the character so much already as is, making him a jedi might be gilding the lily
