Some years ago, we bought a heavy coat for our then-12-year-old son at a Sears an hour away from where we were staying with my parents over Christmas. The tag got missed and we were NOT going to drive an hour each way to get it removed (and yes, that was the closest Sears). We called them, and they suggested

Yep, me too about the vacuum sealer (and I bought it at Costco, to boot!). We have the Executive membership, so purchases (with some exceptions) count towards an annual refund. Since we've been doing that, our refund has been at least as much as the annual fee, which means our membership is essentially free. I

I agree, having the list on your smartphone is much greener and smarter, but if you ARE going to use this method, you don't have to have the list 10 feet away. Just clip it to the top of the backrest of the kid seat. Duh!

I clicked on the link (at blog.signalnoise.com) for the "hi res version of Beast" and was taken to a page with malware embedded (fake message saying my computer was infected, scan now). Anyone else have that problem?

"Ctrl+L is the shortcut to highlight the text in your address bar."

Read the article a little closer. It turns out that while the phones updated to the right time, the alarms didn't. So even though your iPhone clock said it was 7AM and it actually was 7AM after the time change, your 7AM alarm didn't go off until 8AM.

It says it right in the video: the internet is a TOOL, not a PERSON.

@Simoniz: I agree. I think the problem in the photo is that they chose a piece of packing material way too small for the job. I use needle-nose pliers, myself.

Please note that this only works with closed neck shirts (ie. T-shirts). Since I rarely have to hang those up, this was pointless for me. Changing the title to "Speed Up Your T-Shirt Hanging...." would have helped me skip this.

I tried Grooveshark, and it had some songs even Rhapsody didn't carry, but at least 75% of the time, the ads cause my virus protection to declare it an unsafe page. I usually just close it and start again, but I am guessing that Grooveshark doesn't care if the ads it hosts carry a virus, as long as they pay the bill.

@Jordan10la: I'm with you. I don't see a need for Cloud -based music, as I have an iPod classic (80GB). YMMV

Oddly enough, I just did this yesterday. I went to glue a broken Christmas ornament, and somehow the glue squeezed out between the lid and the tube instead of out of the tip of the lid. I used fingernail polish remover to get most of it, but had to use a nail buffer/file (those ones with foam between two pieces of

Timer: I also use the built in timer on my iPod instead of a song, but the idea is still a good one for those who can use it.

Logitech Marble Mouse, especially since my "mousepad" area is only slightly wider than my hand on this mouse. I use a wrist rest with it, as well as one with my keyboard, for perfect comfort, and very little wrist movement.

I use a Logitech Trackman Marble. No pad needed, ever.

I'd never get an iPhone because I have an AT&T Tilt (made by HTC, also available for other carries by other names), which has a touch screen (though not multi-touch), slide out QWERTY keyboard and windows mobile 6. So I can open and sync Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (with push email), pdf's, ebooks, media files

I don't use Grand Central, but my landline provider does provide the ability to email me voicemails, great for when I'm traveling, as I don't have to call in to check, just to find out nobody called. My Gmail label (since, as has been mentioned, "voicemail" is reserved) for these emails is "voice mails"—two words, and

@TimHare: as others have posted, it's not as bad as it used to be, and using Dreamweaver as an intermediary helps. I use WordPad to clean up extra tags, as long as they're identical (highlight the text you want removed, press Ctrl+H, leave the Replace With field empty, and click Replace All).

I use concatenate all the time, and I love it. As for creating HTML of a spreadsheet, if you use Excel, you can "Save as a web page" and all the work is done for you. Then simply tweak the sections you need. If you use Excel and Dreamweaver, you can actually copy from the spreadsheet to the design section and it will
