Elitism over which video games you play is almost as dumb as elitism over which beer you like to drink.

Wow that’s pretty bold to label those who play sports games as casuals. Isn’t the term gamer essentially a person who plays games? Stop It with elitist attitude and trying to be better than everyone.

will the devs even notice if I pirate it? No? Well all good then!

Just imagine how Link/Linkle would look like if they were made by a Western studio:

That was even a thing?

Nintendo doesn’t need to explain themselves to these people. It’s not their responsibility that a very small group of their fans are angry about basically nothing. I’m willing to bet that they’re not even aware of this supposed backlash. And why would they be? As the article states, Fire Emblem Fates is selling

To me this “backlash” is proof that Fire Emblem fans, or at least the depraved ones (read: Siliconera’s commenters) are the fucking worst. Seriously in competition against the Sonic and Kingdom Hearts fanbases as the worst.

Permadeath + Hard = how to play Fire Emblem. Someone already mentioned that turning it off removes the tension. It’s part of the reason why I lost interest in the Disgaea series despite the fact that it’s pretty challenging.

Not exactly. Resetting the game when you get a death is still accepting the higher difficulty of permadeath, in a way. Because that means that your success state for a mission also includes ‘no deaths’. With no permadeath, you can let your weaklings die every mission and still keep on truckin’ happily.

It’s not Fire Emblem without Permadeath. I’m sorry it just isn’t.

Permadeath or get out

Weebs ruin a lot of things.

“DangitGPA”

And shit tons of visual novals, which weeaboos eat up.

Hey remember when the Vita got games?

I went into Conquest being bitterly disappointed at the difficulty level being absurdly easy. Then I realized that the two games share an easy difficulty until Chapter 6, then that games respective levels adjust themselves.

It’s called special edition for a reason.
