“Well if her husband’s in here all the time, ask him where she is!”

I’m on it. I live in the Santa Ana portion of Little Saigon and we are running a strong ground game with the younger Vietnamese voters. I’m an adjunct prof at two universities and one community college where I’ve been recruiting like hell (and totally shouldn’t be). I’ve also got a Vietnamese sister-in-law who’s been

MAGA!!!

Most of my family and friends in the U.S. (all Indian) are extremely educated professionals: a post-doc research scientist, many are E.R. doctors, surgeons, a former government advisor economist, etc. I wonder how many of them took those highly skilled jobs away from Trump supporters like this:

Yes, that and “paid protesters”....

I hereby officially nominate him as the congressman who is most likely to have been dropped on his head as a baby.

Off all the things that wrecked me about the election results, one that stings a bit more sharply than the rest is that Giffords, who talked about how difficult it is for her still to speak, didn’t get to say the words she’d yearned to: Madam President.

This is what I spent my day doing. I’m mildly concerned because I “defaced government property” by putting it on the doors of her office & the exterior building, and public spaces but I’m honestly happy to be arrested for doing it. A server at a restaurant we were allowed to put it up in tore it down, scolded us that

As an involved, enthusiastic stepmom to 3 boys, I have to say we aren’t that bad. Geez.

we’ve been hitting the snooze button for years - if this isn’t a wake up call, i cannot conceive of what is.

I’m so sorry you are enduring this: let us know how we can help.

It’s been that way for a long while, with both parties for the most part. It’s a shame that it took pissing away our democracy to get people to pay attn. If enough folks had paid attn before this horror show, most of our elected officials wouldn’t have the jobs they do.

My ex also pulled a 180 shortly after we were married and that in itself is your enough is enough moment. The abuse is not going to get better; it’s only going to get worse, and the time to go is now. I stayed way, way too long and it’s one of the big regrets of my life.

If someone called Orange Julius a public servant to his face, he’d be insulted...then rilly rilly confused when someone explains to him that yes, you are indeed a public servant.

Not giving advice bc I don’t know your situation, but I’m doing the exact opposite. My kid is two and the last straw for me was realizing that she resorts to tantrums not just because she’s two, but because that’s what she’s seeing from her dad. I can’t raise her in an environment where yelling is ok, or one where she

I’m a proud Giffords voter and these cowardly Republicans can fuck right off.

public servants who don’t believe its their job to serve the public - thanks donald.

Just sending you a hug and lifting you up in spirit. Your husband is clearly very awful, but you must be a wonderful mother. A really good mother is probably better than two parents when one is ... not okay.

It’s not good for you to be miserable and really not good for your kid to see you miserable, unloved, or treated badly. I stayed for 10 years for my kid. I really wish I had left sooner because she is so much happier with us apart and she was really damaged by the dysfunction she lived in. Best of luck to you.

I don’t remember telling you to do that. -The Sphinx
