I’m sure streamer chats are toxic as hell, but I refuse to believe that his job is anywhere near as exhausting or toxic as any service industry job.

He said he felt trapped by the neverending grind to create, saying streaming “six to eight hours a day” has grown tiring.

i agree glamping and film sets are ideal use cases, but short term (e.g a day) emergency power seems viable to me as well

I look forward to all of these running for two weeks and then getting canceled.

Where are you being “constantly” sold microtransactions? I have opened the shop tab once or twice, but have otherwise never noticed anything in game.

FaZe continues to look like the worst examples of gaming culture. I hope she gets out of the contract cleanly, though I’d prefer this shitstain of a human being get the boot instead, because this is some straight up harassment from Rain.

Making bad business decisions is not a catch-22. Its not a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” scenario.

You know, considering how awful and intrusive Kotaku’s ads are on mobile, I think it’s kind of hilarious to see you calling out what is fairly benign (albeit also still pretty crappy) compared to your own site’s ads, which are massive and page engulfing.

It IS a sporting league.

Did you play Diablo 3 on launch?  The droprate was very obviously impacted by the presence of the real money AH, and that affected the flow of the entire game.  Ignoring the AH in no way solved the problems caused by the RMAH.

So? Can we really afford not to overspend? Space shit is expensive, and if you don’t do it right, it’s also dangerous. Give them what they fucking need, or don’t do it at all. At at the rate we are ruining our planet, they better be doing it because we will need somewhere else to go someday.

Hmmm, so much for returning to the moon on a shoestring budget...

“Twitter new account signups just went ballistic.””

Uh, as in they peaked and are now plummeting downward at increasing speed?  Okay, bud.

Happy to see Captain Mrs. McMurray back, though.

This seems like a scheme to not pay the talent behind these programs what they are owed in residuals.”

On the Distraction podcast (from Defector) with Adam Conover as guest where he goes into it. Michael Schur was on a few weeks before, but the sentiment is the same. The people in charge now, the investor class, don’t give a shit about the product. They care about maximizing revenues and profits. These aren’t movie/TV

This doesn’t make a lick of sense to me. Shows like Little Demon and Willow were heavily marketed by Hulu and Disney+. Pulling them from the service less than a year after they aired just seems like throwing money away.

And someone who is a CEO of multiple companies at the same time is even more worthless, as they aren’t being an effective CEO of any of the companies.

This guy has no idea what real “work” is.  He think strolling around and yelling at underlings is work, like most CEOs, so he can’t comprehend how he’s useful if he doesn’t have people in the office to boss around.  Hot tip: Most CEOs are a waste of money.
