We don’t have E3 anymore. I accept this. But I will not be giving up the tradition of bitching at Geoff Keighley. Take one for the team, here, Geoff.

“I don’t agree with how he went about it, but it’s his religion and we have to respect it just like people apart of the lgbtq community should be respected,”

They’ve also pledged to both stop and listen.

I’m okay with this. Give me lots of space to run, and I’m good. More than 20 years of crappy 3D Sonic games has lowered the bar to the floor for me. My only real gripe here is that all those “We need to find a way to make the 2D mechanics work in 3D” have never felt good, and I wouldn’t shed a tear if they were gone.

He always looks like he’s struggling to keep his face from sliding clean off his skull.

There’s only so many ways they can profit off the parasocial lifeblood of the community. They’re going to serve people ads one way or the other, and they’re going to use incentives to get streamers on board. The writing has been all over the wall in neon ink the moment Twitch started serving mid-roll ads.

The long and short of it is that it was an exploration game, or that’s what he said, anyway. The galaxy (or galaxies) would follow certain rules, and in doing so, would encourage exploration. Those rules were very ambitious, and it appears that they had to be abandoned late in development, leaving many of the systems

“Similar to No Man’s Sky, it’s the kind of project that even if we had a thousand people working on it, it’d still seem impossible”

Your favorite insufferable young-adult fiction protagonist is back to whine and r/im14andthisisdeep his way through another convoluted quest to save... something, and push back against the most powerful force of evil in the Disneyverse: puberty.

Why won’t Sony add GP’s best feature to their subscription service? Because this service is the only game in town when it comes to Playstation hardware. When GP starts meaningfully eating into Sony’s market share, they’ll react. Or they won’t, it’s always a crapshoot when it comes to Sony adapting to the times.

On it’s face, it doesn’t seem quite worth the price of admission. I’ll be interested in seeing how it actually functions in practice.

In GT7 I would like to have users enjoy lots of cars and races even without microtransactions. At the same time, the pricing of cars is an important element that conveys their value and rarity, so I do think it’s important for it to be linked with real-world prices.”

It really should go without saying at this point, but this is a product of his own rhetoric, in large part. The character gets him paid. I’m sure the occasional dissonance doesn’t bother him.

But, look, I’m just saying: Worldle. It was right there.”

The microtransactions are gonna blow your mind.

Thank god, I was worried about how live-service games were doing.

I appreciate this reference.

It’s nice that the cold war between Disney East and Disney West is finally going hot. Gotta wonder if Bungie is worth that kind of scratch, though. Maybe they’ll make something other than Destiny with the extra support.

I very much do not think it is the fault of the writers, but this place has been feeling increasingly content mill, low effort, and even when the Takes come out, they just feel… wildly undercooked.
