The vast majority of streamers right now would have been scoffed at in the early days of the medium by a lot of people, back when being compared to YouTubers was almost an insult. But there was a reason people were so phony on YouTube, and streaming followed suit as soon as the money got good.

You had me there in the first half, not gonna lie.

Maybe there’s still money to be made there, but the memes are getting so stale that it’s hard to care anymore. Apes and stonks and diamond hands, ugh. The initial excitement has waned, and now the community sustains itself on memes, DD that most don’t understand in the least, and self-righteous circlejerkery.

Jokes on you. I bought an unopened copy of the original Zelda golden cart NFT for $20, and I’m going to sell it for a cool mil.

NintendOLED Switch. Missed opportunity.

Retro No Man’s Sky? It looks like Noctis, the retro game NMS cribbed half its concept from! I thought the same thing when I saw Star Explorers ages ago, and completely forgot about it until right this moment. So happy to have been reminded of it.

Bang-On Balls gave me the same silly British vibe I got from Team Buddies when I was young. It looks pretty fun, put it on my wishlist.

I’m not sure Sony would have been bought out, but it’s clear the Playstation brand helped pull their ass out of the fire. It was a damn shame how they tried to use the the Playstation’s popularity to Trojan horse the Cell processor into everyone’s home, only to have it blow up in their face. But it was the brand

Sony has done a great job building a fan base for the Playstation brand willing to overlook how crummy they can be as a company. Things like this do not shock me at all. Sony has shown over and over and over again what they are all about. They release some truly amazing first party games, and it allows them the space

Square is so far up their own backsides when it comes to Final Fantasy that it probably does utterly baffle them why anyone wouldn’t love their bleh remasters. I would bet that the Japanese Final Fantasy audience treats the the franchise with the same reverence.

I have it on good authority that GTAVI will be set in the backcountry of West Virginia and suck.

All that free time you spend gaming is time spent unadvertised to, and that cannot stand.

Oh man, Fleshbot. I was big into Consumerist, as far as former Gawker sites are concerned.

Yeah, I really feel like much of the discussion beyond just that is navel gazing. Console makers have always wanted to ensure their walled gardens were fully stocked and distinct from the next guy’s. It’s one thing when we’re talking about expensive children’s toys. It’s an entirely different thing when we’re talking

You’re a strong voice, and have been for as long as I can remember knowing who you were. I feel like Kotaku needs that more than anything else right now.

Valley has a really satisfying jump mechanic, yeah. The action in that game flows so nicely at times. I enjoyed my time playing it.

Like I said, I know PCF foots the bill. Of course they can’t just change the charity involved, it’s the charity that’s paying for the event.

I enjoyed this year’s AGDQ. It was about as close to the feel of the live GDQs as you could have hoped for. I’ll be honest, though. I couldn’t have given a fuck less about preventing cancer this year. This was the first GDQ I watched where it outright felt to me like this really was more of a vanity gamer thing than

Holy shit. Jonas seemed such a great dude. His streams were always a breath of fresh air on Twitch, and I’m sad I won’t be able to catch him playing Not Tetris 2 again. I found so much new music off of him. Jonas and Heather playing Phoenix Wright made for great watching. Old music videos at the end of the week.

You know, maybe I’m just getting old and increasingly unwilling to be inconvenienced, but I have no desire to use batteries like this in anything if I can help it. Here’s me shrugging at the prospect of buying a separate piece of equipment to charge batteries and having to keep track of them. I’d sooner just run a
