Protestant Churches do not all follow the same Gospel reading schedule the way the Catholic Church does. While my experience growing up is like yours it’s possible the mekki never did the reading of the Passion on Palm Sunday.

Brains work differently too. I watch with captions and basically “read” whatever I’m watching, but I still see the bigger picture. It feels similar to when I’m reading a book and imagine a movie playing back in my head, but with better sets and costumes.

As a visual learner I prefer to read the lines over listening to them all of the time. I follow and remember the storyline better.
