I would love to agree with you, as I'm an anglophile through and through, especially when it comes to automobiles... But I have to say, the Mercedes W108/109 has this beat by only a hair, really only because it's just as beautiful (albeit, in a different way), but it has the edge in build quality.

I guess if BMW doesn't think there's a market in the US for a vehicle they already build (second generation even), why would there be a market for a compact Cadillac? I know they'd sell a ton of them in Europe if they style/price/equip/engine it right, but that's not relevant for Cadillac.

For some reason I can't seem to like Mercedes new styling, don't get me wrong the interior (the new S class) is insane! But there's something about the styling that doesn't grab my attention like the older models.
