My grandfather has a pair of electrostatic speakers- the only reason why he could afford them was because the store that was selling them couldn't sell them to anyone. And they sound absolutely fantastic.

@Arcane: I never said that the dates were far apart- I think that apple knows that the majority of people only hear about it's new products through advertisements, and by going to an apple store. Anyway, people know that apple will announce a new generation of whichever product on a certain cycle, and yet sales…

@colorfulRhyme: I used to flash my Xperia X1 daily- I tinker much less with my iphone, but jailbreaking offers an amazing amount of things you can mess with. The only usability advantage I can see with android is that you can make an app for it on any OS, not just OSX, and that the command line is more linuxy.

@izzi303: You could just as easily get a used iphone. (depending on how much you bought the ipod for)
