i am enjoying the last of the stuffing for my lunch, and the remains of the turkey went into tortilla soup yesterday, which i will be feeding my flu-ridden partner throughout the day until tonight when i freeze it. ...if i can find room in the freezer. somebody who has a direct line to the food gods, please pray for

i’m a little late to the party, but, meh - on thanksgiving i dismember the bird and pull all the meat from the carcass, in whole breasts, thighs, drums and wings. i stuff the carcass and the wings in a bag for stock making, serve up usually a thigh or leg and one breast sliced up, which suits my small thanksgiving

back when this season started, i remember nearly wanting to cry from the sheer joy of seeing something so beloved and soothing foist its way onto the tv screen, pandemic be damned. it’s a rare thing to be so disappointed by the end of something i started off so happy with, but, here we are. i miss hermine, i laughed

thank you for posting this information, for you have made my day, possibly week.

my thrifted pizza hut care bears glass with grumpy bear on it is my favorite water vessel. it comfortably holds 16 ounces of water and the combined rainbow colors and grumpiness on it just make me happy, and happy and hydrated is the way to be.

same. i know over the years the parade has boiled down to an hours-long promotional fest with some current pop culture and a few nods to the tradition thrown in, but it’s comfort in consistency for me and i need it in the background while either prepping the food or eating snacks.

maybe i’m just cranky, but i don’t get the in-n-out hype whatsoever. the burgers are decent and the shakes are pretty good, but their fries are trash and even a really good burger isn’t worth the wait these people are enduring. there are burgers everywhere, and they come with way better fries.

i feel like that’s got to be it, bc it sure as shit isn’t accounted for in judging. i’m still salty about halloween-loving helena being sent home last season after winning the technical.

truth. i shopped for my bird over the weekend, and on my three-store rounds (thanksgiving with a gluten-free companion necessitates it, as much as i didn’t want to deal with crowds at all) and i did not come across any turkeys packaged in a way that i could see their skin. plus, i dunno about the rest of y’all, but

you can pry the cranberry sauce from my clawlike, very-much-alive hands, bc i am living for it on my thanksgiving plate and you will not take it from me.

when i was growing up, my mom always said it was against her religion to go grocery shopping on sunday. now as an adult, i get it - if you go early enough, it’s fine and fairly uncrowded, but if you’re just a few minutes too late, you get caught up in the absolute tsunami of late morning/early afternoon shopping

yep, this is it. i try to work salads into my meal planning for the week or two and buy a big container of salad greens and pick up proteins when on sale, occasionally grabbing decent dressings when they’re on sale too- and definitely keep a stock of nuts, fruits, and cheeses on hand. while i can cobble together a

i mean, buzzfeed skews about 15 years too young for me and while i like finding out what restaurant bread i am based on my disney princess opinions, i’m definitely not gonna hold their poll results up as any kind of standard. when it comes to cheesecake though, i’m gonna say it’s like the duck-billed platypus of the

i am oddly intrigued by these. capers make everything delightful, honestly.

i effing love panettone. i’m not much of a fruit-with-my-sweets person, but these are so light and lovely that i can never turn it down. growing up, my mom would always cut one of these up into itty bitty pieces to have with coffee (or hot chocolate) while opening christmas presents, so it’s definitely a nostalgia

i honestly cackled at that. her deadass Office-like stare into the camera was hilarious.

that’s how my senior year roommate pronounced it, and her mom was from wisconsin. that explains a lot.

well this looks heavenly.

i guess i’m just a basic, but, cheese and crackers are my go to. maybe with a few olives, or grapes if i want to be sweet about it. but honestly, the combo will never not be delicious and satisfying to me.

i recently discovered the joy of seaweed snacks, and i love them so much. they’re approximately two calories though so they don’t do much in the nourishment department but they are delightful.
