Thank you! I really don’t like the black wheel trend. Granted, I don’t want chrome wheels, but a nice machined silver or painted grey is wonderful. With the right color, bronze or gold is also acceptable (STI). Also, anything that is original and period correct - like these chrome wheels!
I work in film production and we were unable to secure a permit for a film location for a last minute shoot the client HAD to have. I simply budgeted for the fines. This is common practice. I also always have a few thousand in cash to help ease the concerns of neighbors that may otherwise complain about noise or…
That would, however, blunt the intent of the stunt. These cowboys wanted to raise the stakes from just jumping/gliding from one plane to the other. “Just imagine how cool it would be if nobody was flying the plane?!?”
I had to go outside and wipe down my center console compulsively after seeing the photo above. Wow that is FILTHY.
Handsome car other than the chrome wheels. And NO... they should not be replaced with fucking black wheels.
You mean Jalopnik is gutted.
RX and TX only work if they are connected with a cable.
Really depends on the car.
There are no highly effective and universally available vaccines for asbestos or lead poisoning.
This should have been done the instant N95s and adult vaccines were universally available.
All of the points you’re making and the knowledge you have are great! I also worked in energy (not nuclear specific), so I have some knowledge, but not all. Wish we hadn’t given up on nuclear.
I’ve got a flight to Austria in June and I’m really hoping I can be mask free by then. I flew to Switzerland over the holidays and while not a deal breaker, it’s just not comfortable being on a flight for 8 hours, trying to sleep, masked.
Postpone flying until at least May 4th, got it.
Fusion is just around the corner now ;)
First off, the 2x cost is “installed capacity”. Which isn’t an apples to oranges comparison. Because Nuclear makes generally about 4 times the power as a similar capacity wind or solar system.
I work in nuclear power. There is a TON of potential there, which I fear will be wasted.
At least breeder reactors actually exist. It’s just the damn fear of nuclear proliferation that stops it from being implemented. The Sstar reactors might be a few years out - if anyone bothers to invest in them. I’m curious what the cost of a breeder reactor is vs traditional nuclear plants.
It’s always surprising to me (still) when people think that electric cars are the cure-all to everything that ails us. It’s absolutely better for the environment than petrol-powered cars, but just like everything else, comes with its own issues. Metal mining is going to explode in the next 5-10 years as battery…
