The Ford Mustang Knight Rider from 2008. Does anyone remember this movie/series? Hoooo boy it was bad. NBC’s hit rate with shows is about 10%, but this thing was beyond embarrassing.

It’s not very typical.

Has nobody yet said “Pimp My Ride”? Maybe because it doesn’t count as an actual car show?

Honestly now that I look at it...they just took the whole Fiesta St and used the scale tool.

Wow, they took the Fiesta ST grill and used the scale tool. Makes the Lexus corporate grill look tasteful.

I am a white man and also a refugee, and I am also in.

I’m glad you’re okay! That’s a serious injury. I’m aways terrified of car doors, so I ride with traffic.

I was in a bike accident a few years ago where I broke my pelvis in several places. After the accident I tried to get on the bike to go home. I had to be stopped by a bystander. You have no idea how badly you are injured right after an accident.

The street side mechanics in Hong Kong were amazing to watch - basically full on wrenching on cars on the side of the street, using a ditch they dug to get underneath them. Absolutely amazing work.

Oh for sure - that’s a very concise way of putting it. I think they’ll need to start developing their products like a tech company does, as well as build out a much more expansive tech side that knows how to talk to enthusiasts. A marriage between the developers and the enthusiast engineers, as it were.

I wrenched on my car all the time in the garage I kept it in on Myrtle Ave in Brooklyn. The guy there was much happier for me to just wrench on it instead of taking it out, because then he didn’t have to move all the cars around.

I think what we’re seeing here is the natural limit of performance electric vehicle builds today. It took a while to make every day performance accessible - back in the 80s and 90s you could get cars that did 0-60 in under 5 seconds, but they were things like Ferraris or Cosworth-engined Fords that were fragile and

Don’t tempt them.

Poor Formula 1, it seems the sport can’t go more than a week without some new threat to its global reputation.

Eh, I’d say that it’s similar to how a lot of clothing brands used to plaster their clothes with their brand name (thankfully this has gone out of style.) It’s super tacky, just like having your M240i Competition all branded screaming “I have a fast car!” is a little tacky. Fortunately, all these companies now offer

Debadging is super common in Europe and it’s a factory option on Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche (Porsche even offers it here). I’d argue it’s the opposite of douchey, in that you’re not trying to show off how big your...engine is.

After I bought a pretty roughed up manual Audi wagon (sadly not brown) I dumped $5k into getting it back into good shape, including new suspension, wheels, clutch, and a good tune. The thing that by far made the most difference was the set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports I put on it. Felt like a brand new car.

not meant to be a canyon carver actually ridden

I can certainly think of other ways to kill yourself with a vehicle, but none quite so creative.

I’d wholeheartedly disagree - the entire point of all of the changes for 2022 - including the cost cap - is to level the playing field somewhat. From F1 directly:
