These were definitely poor man’s Corvettes, too, right?

The interiors on these were SO bleak. Just an awful place to sit. Besides that, the ad is suspiciously light on details. No Dice.
Also I think they look dumb (I know that’s kind of subjective, but there’s nothing cute about your cheeks smashed into a helmet).
It was fine on the inside, but not any better than a previous gen Corolla. I think you needed a bit of the edginess/look at me vibes to get people to commit to a hybrid.

Is it that hard to make some attractive wheels, GM? I know looks are subjective, but I can’t get into either of those wheel options. I’d love to see a throwback wheel option, maybe an updated C4 wheel style - the ones that look like they have turbofan covers on them.
I see your points, and understand - I guess it’s personal preference (although I still stand by the hard angular look of the 348 eventually aging better than the softer lines of the 355.) The softening of the Ferrari just doesn’t do it for me (nor does the general design language and jellybean look of a lot of 90s…
I’m not sure if this was an improvement! The 348 still had the classic “wedge” shape with the cool tail lamp louvres and the straked air intakes. The 355 was a good Ferrari, but it fell into the 90s trap of overly soft and bubbly designs. The tail lights on the 355 are also objectively bad.
If we’re going for “boring” cars, I’d nominate the Prius Gen 1 to Gen 2. Went from a horrible econobox to one of the most popular compact cars on the market. Brought hybrids to the masses.
It’s what the 911 used to be - lightweight, pure, all about balance. The 911 is a baby super car now. The Cayman is the true spiritual successor.
The right answer here is a Porsche Cayman. It’s quick, usable year round, and what’s more special than a Porsche? It’ll be newer and less hassle than whatever 911 you can get for the same money. Here’s one in Florida for $53k with only 30k miles. Barely broken in.
The Audi is by far the sharpest luxury electric car right now, even better than the Porsche.
“That’s not a real Mustang - back when I was tuning my Fox Body ‘stang, I had to drive into crowds myself, I didn’t have any fancy self-driving autonomous pedestrian assault feature.”
Something something Mustang, cars and coffee, pedestrians
Just tapped the gas! For the life of me I don’t remember the model (maybe a 208?), but it was brand new, about 20km on it. This was in June.
“Only 520 miles? Needs to be 1,000. If it were 1,000, I’d buy one tomorrow.”
Right? I don’t remember the last time I stalled my car (probably when I wasn’t paying attention), but it’s a nice feature, especially if you know how to drive a manual but don’t own one. Stalling in the middle of Paris or London can be stressful.
I rented a dirt cheap Peugeot last time I was in Switzerland and it had a great little feature that wouldn’t let you stall. If it sensed it was about to stall it would engage the clutch automatically and auto stop the engine. Not sure of the mechanics behind it, but was a great feature.
“Rebuilt” = “I blew up the engine once” maybe? Wouldn’t be the first time in a fox body...
only ran 91 octane since then
