You’re awesome and you deserve this (or any other) guy who likes your cats and wants to hang out with you and makes awesome cocktails and you shouldn’t worry about offending everyone!

I’m almost the same age as you and I think this is a pretty common feeling. I see nothing wrong with wearing makeup. I like putting makeup on, pondering what colors I’m going to wear and I feel like it makes me happier and more confident about myself when I go out. Not because I need it or that I am hiding behind it…
I remember this episode well.
As usual, perfectly expressed.
I can imagine that experience would give you PTSD. And that it would be exceptionally difficult to learn to trust people. I think your BIL knowing you got PTSD from that place should be enough for him never to bring it up again. What’s wrong with people?!
I’m sorry I ever responded to this person. They’re clearly just a jerk, if not an outright troll. The idea they’re a mental health professional literally sent a chill up my spine. I hope they’re just lying about that.
I strongly disagree.
A conversation you started on purpose with a very obvious agenda.
Talk about a makeover!!
“There was never any “Bro-fist, little dude!” That never happened.”
"It's important that it be made of good things...."
Oh my god. I don’t blame you for still being sick thinking about it all. That is just so awful. :(
This link doesn’t negate my comment, which was addressing you specifically about the chicken vs egg when it comes to suicide in relation to bullying.
“We” aren’t? I was talking about that, actually.
Ugh. That sounds awful.
Why don’t you just worry about your own life, and leave others alone?
“....whether they want to remember their child as their son or as their daughter is their business, not yours.”
I’m so sorry you went through that.
There’s such a thing as situational depression, though. In other words, you can be free of any definitive mental illness entirely but being harassed or hurt on a daily basis can induce suicidal feelings. And it doesn’t take long. Weeks, months. A person can go from never having a suicidal thought in their lives to…
Agree, completely.
