Ah the Art book conundrum ... most of mine are too big to fit in my bookshelves with glass doors. My dad built me beautiful twin mahogany bookshelves as a birthday present in my teens specifically for these kind of books. They accommodate all my huge negative binders as well photo albums and those ridiculous big art &

With all that’s going on in this world, it makes me smile knowing that place is still out there. I watched Mystic Pizza a lot as a kid sooooo someday I’ll make my way there.

Um .... that is literally me and exactly what I do but I also started reading digitally about 10 years back and that has helped keep the physical numbers of keeper books down.

Yup. Multiple copy person here too ! Although lately I’ve been sticking to two copies ( fancy hardcover book + digital copy ) .... which is awesome as my bags are so much lighter these days due to that

Sigh, I would too. But at least she reads. For all my compatibility with my husband, he is not a book reader. I never thought I’d end up with one but 20+ years on it’s actually been a good balance

That they are. Some day my books will be a burden to someone else. So I cull my collection often and only buy what I truly love in physical form anymore. About 10 years ago I started reading the majority of my books digitally and it’s great. 1000 books all in one teeny tiny tablet. I also still have a ton of books but

So very true.

Everyone needs a good wallow. I’m starting homeschool with the tiny human this Tuesday. I’ve also had a headache 4 of the past 7 days. Soooo I’ve been cutting myself some slack on the easy meals and the tons of tv time we’ve logged in this week.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Toot that horn !!!

Awesome & I wish you well. Fingers & toes crossed for you. Cheers !

Is it bad that every time I think of Mystic, I think of that old 80s movie Mystic Pizza ??? I have also never actually been to Mystic but it actually sounds lovely from your description. I love little coastal & seaside towns

Sometimes there is a need and I do swap books around to place on display all the time.

Oh indeed. I do admit to removing mine but itS only on the older ( and by older I mean 70s,80s,90s ) mass produced novels like King & Rice etc that don’t really have much value. Anything truly old that came with one still has it and I am extremely careful of my folio & dust covered books.

It’s true really. I know someday my books will be a burden to someone. I regularly cull my collection. The ones I do have are extremely old, useful to me or loved dearly. And there are still too many ( I know ). That’s why I do the bulk of my reading digitally now

Gah. That is just .... yeah soul crushing.

I guess to each there own. I do admit to get rid of dust jackets as I find them annoying BUT it’s usually only on older books that actually have cool bindings.

That is perfect. Enjoy it.

That is an excellent analogy and quite appropriate

Wow. I never thought about it that way. I guess you need to have a well organized system to find what you need but if preservation is what you are after, that seems the way to go than.

Sigh. That hurts both my soul and my head.
