The thing is, sick time is part of compensation. You want to see fewer “unsubstantiated” sick calls, then offer buy backs. “Use it or lose it” is the worst; I left 265 hours of sick leave on the table (over $20k in value) when I changed jobs years ago and I still feel like a chump. Meanwhile, I’ve worked other places…
You’re confused as to the target of your rage. YOUR EMPLOYER determined the appropriate amount of days and you seem to be upset someone uses those very days.
You sound like a crappy manager who seems to think that employees are clogs just like Elon and yes you are saying I’m a badass hardass curmudgeons.
If you think people are abusing the sick days that they have legitimately earned, you’re a toxic AF manager and I’m super happy I don’t work for you.
This comment that cars are shit today has been said by every generation of old man going back to the 50s.
The concept of what makes a care “soulful” is as subjective as people’s taste in cars.
Typical boomer dude... they can criticize anyone and anything they want no matter how fat, ugly, dumb, etc they are themselves.
Well, thanks for spreading your colds and flus to the rest of your co-workers. I find this idea about “I never take sick days” to be utterly ridiculous.
You’re upset at an employee using all the sick time that he’s allowed? A whopping 14 days out of the ~250 working days in a year?
I would attempt to induce vomiting before opening the door and then proceed to hurl a pile of puke on their feet.
The former “Top Gear” and “Grand Tour” host bemoaned the fact that modern cars are getting too heavy for his liking.
If my employer showed up at my door checking if I was actually sick I’d THIS IS SPARTA them off my porch.
Thierig also noted that temporary workers in the same conditions only had a 2% sickness rate, suggesting that permanent workers were taking advantage of the German labor protections.
Counterpoint: How often do cops issue tickets for reckless driving in a low speed rear ending? And on private property? I’ve been rear ended at a stop sign. No ticket issued. One time I was hit in a parking lot I managed to flag a cop. He did nothing because it wasn’t on the street.
Bullshit. That’s what you read into it because your bias overwhelms your rationality. There is nothing in the article that even comes close to being anti-police.
No love for the 1976 Gran Torino in the Barenaked Ladies’ “One Week” video? Know they’re a bunch of goofy Canadian dads and not the coolest guys, but there’s a classic hood slide in that video.
People wouldn’t run away from their job so fast if the company would just put a a stake in the ground and stay on a course of action rather than starting out with pie in the sky dream growth numbers and then completely reversing course when they don’t pan out to be 100% true.
Look, I have no idea whether Ghosn is guilty of the crimes he’s accused of, or of the profligate spending they claim he did. All I know is
“More of the EV talent is heading out than in,”
