Gotta wait for the adjusters to hash it out. A nearby boat ramp witnessed the collision and the rumor is that bridge may not be at fault here.

If this is a partial collapse (as I’ve heard it described several times this morning) then I don’t know what a full collapse would be.

The “acting like an ass” is the key here. Even if you are completely smashed, as long as you keep quiet and don’t bother anybody, it’s pretty unlikely to get kicked off. The dude made a scene to get kicked off.

You can tell that even he was confused by all of that. He was talking it up during his rallies and stuff after the fact and people would start booing him.

I’ve been wearing masks on flights because I realized that I get sick from some a-hole on the plane every time, and I’d rather not spend my vacation incubating some mouthbreathers pet bugs.

It’s pretty funny to say things like “I’ll hand it to Trump - Operation Warp Speed was a huge success that saved a lot of lives” and watch their brains go into meltdown.

A friend has a double lung transplant and as such is on immunosupressant drugs and wears a mask ALL the time. He works in a very conservative community in Alberta and was told by the boss that he can no longer wear a mask as it upsets the clients and co-workers. He presented his dr’s notes and continued to wear it and

I think I will mask up for every airplane flight for the foreseeable future if it pisses off infants like this.

Except they haven’t resigned, aren’t they staying there for like another 8 months? That’s hardly a resignation.

There is basically no diversity on the board, there are *no* union representatives, and the only “engineer” was a previous Boeing CEO. They are all either ex-politicians (I’m including the military guys here) or people from the investment world.

I think this is generally a much bigger problem than just Boeing. Too many corporate boards these days seem to have taken a lackadaisical approach to their oversight responsibilities. Maybe the executive class needs to look beyond their own rank and file to find people who still understand what “responsibility”,

The board should be shitcanned too.  Look how many CEO’s that board has been through in the past ~10 years.  It’s crazy.

Yes and no. The justice department can still come after you if they determine you committed any crimes. But typically, yes, leaving the company pretty much washes away the ick.

I will never get the logic of “Boeing can acquire McDonnell-Douglas because they lost so much value due to mismanagement” leading to “Let’s transplant the McDonnell-Douglas C-Suite into Boeing.

Plus there’s probably a nice severance package/golden parachute that was written into his employment contract.

If Boeing wants to survive, they need to put one of their top engineers in as CEO. When Boeing ruled the skies, they were led by engineers. Once the financial people took control, the company shit the bed.

that is exactly how it works

Great, can’t wait to see which completely indiscernible corporate dipshit they replace him with. I’m sure he will find some new part of the process of making an airplane to spinoff to an “independent contractor” consisting of former Boeing employees, but now with no oversight and limited QC. He will be lauded as a

How noble of them to step down, retire, and not seek re-election. I’m sure it was much easier on their wallets than being fired.

So if you resign as CEO from a company amidst an investigation, are you absolved from all the wrong doing the company was engaged in under your term? How does that work exactly? Seems rather convenient.
