For all the good it does, the CT user manual may as well be written in Simlish...

I dunno, I wouldn’t go up against the legal team of the world’s richest man.

When I left a city with good public transit for the Midwestern suburbs, my main priorities for a car were (1) affordability and (2) AWD to help with winter driving. There was NO overlap of those priorities in the small-car segment - anything with AWD had a mid-level or luxury price - so I had to settle for a CRV. Very

I’m REALLY curious to find out how the judge rules on the nonbinding shareholder vote. I hope she strikes it down again.

Second gear - both Boeing and Airbus are also dealing with counterfeit titanium from China. The supply chain is absolutely fucked.

Sir this is a Wendy’s blog

Could they seize the car and/or his license?

Completely agree. I think we’re on the right track with the push toward autonomy — as in, autonomy will require networking, not that autonomy is going very well these days. But it’ll take probably at least 50 years after solving for autonomy for all cars in a given country or region to be mapped to an integrated

Yeah I need a polite horn AND an “I’m sorry, I know I did something stupid, I’m not from around here, please forgive me” horn.

The whispered “oh my goddddd” right after the judge orders him to report to jail is just priceless.

The only reason my insurance rate didn’t rise when my 9-month-old car had its front smashed in by a drunk driver (at 8 in the morning...) is because I wasn’t in the car at the time, so it was considered property instead of a car. $7000 of damage and I didn’t pay a penny of it, thank god.

Deregulation, baby! Vote in November.

The problem is that the only negative outcome of making ZERO cuts (to buttons, jobs, or other costs) is a dip in shareholder dividends. Wall Street has been given far too much control of the everyday workings of publicly listed companies.

Eh, you can be “occasional charter flight” rich and not “own a private jet” rich.

Not all crimes merit deportation, particularly when deportation can mean death if the person has escaped a country full of gang/government violence

It also strikes me that his accomplices are of Hispanic or Latino ancestry, and San Antonio is close to the border - I wonder if he was specifically looking for immigrants & their family members because he could pay them under the table and the workers were more likely to stay quiet.

I agree, the pacing was a little off. I overall really enjoyed the movie, but I was looking for at least one chase scene (like all of the chase scenes in Fury Road) that would spike my adrenaline and joy, and it never came.

To be fair, New Zealand tour guides routinely tell tourists that the deer population was once so out of control that the government allowed people to jump out of helicopters to TACKLE the deer. I have no idea if that’s actually true, but this story adds a point to the “likely true” column.

Those are good points I hadn’t considered. But I’ll take the marginal chance of annoyance over all the possible negative consequences of speeding. I assume there would be a way to give feedback about outdated database entries.

Or just switch to the sweet/bittersweet taste of aspartame (Diet Coke). Regular American Coke is gross to me now, feels like I’m crunching sugar crystals between my teeth even though i know it’s HFCS.
