I second the recommendation. It goes pretty deep into the genre. I’d though I had read a lot of them, but I had no idea how many of those books there were. And he’s got great appreciations for specific authors, and not just the ones you’d expect.

Paperbacks from Hell—which I read because of a recommendation from this site—was a very worthwhile read I thought. I thought I knew a bit about modern horror fiction but it was next-level knowledgeable.
