You’re two to three years older then me (depending on date), but I agree 100 percent: nostalgia absolutely colors the way we remember that era. I have very fond memories of the 70's and vividly remember liking the Star Wars Holiday Special (hey, I was 6) and anything Star Wars related in general.

I have to disagree: can you honestly say you don’t know a couple where you say “How does XX put up with YY? Why does XX stay with YY anyway?” Because I certainly do. And sometimes they never leave.

I thought that as well, but then I think the writers won’t take that easy way out. Of course, it makes the most sense...I heard they’re going to write a scenario where a baby shoots him from a nearby station wagon.

Rumor has it the Little River Band had members in attendance as well...that and the guy who sings “Do you wanna make love”

Probably more the second, but I think it would be interesting to see if Lee could change.

That second season was so well filmed and the cinematography was beautiful. It almost felt like a series as done by the Coen bros.

That was pretty awesome...and kind of heart breaking. It’s a testament to Walton Goggins acting (and maybe the reveal about his childhood) that I still felt bad for his character in this, despite the sheer amount of awful things he does.

As someone whose love of ‘wimp rock’ aka AM Gold is well known, I fully agree.

Matty “The Horse” Iannielo was a real life mobster who passed away a few years back. I love how this show incorporates real life figures into the story, and I can’t wait to see how this story arc goes.

Just saw him at ACL fest last weekend...well, saw him in that I listened to one or two tunes then kept walking around drunk during the festival. Seemed pretty awesome from what I remember.

Or a bass player with a smaller Hartke rig? My thing was it was easier to zip around the city with my SI then in a wagon or SUV. Plus no back seat with my equipment in it so I didn’t have to really ride share.

I will beg to disagree, and hit you with a crosscheck of knowledge. I had the Honda Civic SI in hatchback (which had the stick shift coming out of the middle of the dash - more awesome then it sounds) and I loved the damn thing. I was able to get all my music gear in and have a quick little car that could zip around

This is an incredible film: it nails the atmosphere of the ‘down and out’ and has some of the best scenes of the destructive power of alcoholism.

heheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheh.....

I saw the story in your eyes...

My older two daughters love it as well, and I’ll take them to see it. To me, it ‘gets’ some of the absurdity of the genre, and it also doesn’t appear spiteful towards it.

Yup: and someone who gets that after years of grim adaptations it’s kind of fun to have someone “take the piss” out of the genre. I’m a Yank: did I use that expression right? And if I did, can you use “Bob’s your uncle” in a sentence so I can understand it?

Is it wrong that I like the guy’s writing (although he’s no TMQ or Dr. Z, both who I genuinely enjoy reading) even though I realize he’s pretty gutless?

This quote made my day. And I give you props: as a Jets fan (see sad, depressing post above) I don’t know if I could have cheered if Brady had done that...no, wait, it’s the COWBOYS. Go Pack Go.

This is the right answer: when you have a QB who can play that well on the rookie deal it’s gravy. You have like 2 to 3 years to re-sign other guys before the QB hit kills your cap. Not that I know anything about a QB killing a cap, as I’m a Jets fan and we haven’t had a real QB since Pennington. Who I liked but was
