The Passage was great, it was super long but never felt it. I started but have stalled on the 2nd book, maybe it's time I picked it up again.

The work xmas party is on Saturday & I rented a car for the weekend so I can use it as an excuse to not drink! (I think it's tacky to get wasted at work functions but people have always looked at me weird when I dont. So here's hoping the car will make it less awkward with the new work folks)

Congrats for making the cut! Or not, as it were.

ooOOooo, thats great workplace drama!

holy frak I'm #2?! GO ME!

"nifty Kryptonite knife" or KrytoKnife! (quick scan of comments and no one's put that together? or am I the only one with that sense of humour?)

I know him as the dead dad on Revolution. (The beard in this ep threw me for a loop.)

I have watched every episode of this show and it is fantastic. And yet I keep hoping to see "and cut to everything works out great!". I don't know why I keep expecting this, I know it won't happen. These people's lives are too real and I respect the show(runners) for not letting us get away with not watching the

Yes, the work Max Richter has done for this show is amazing.

ha and all I can think is snarky "SNOILERS! The team will do awful like they always do!"

heh car ride sickness is kind of a split of fuckthisshit and goodnews! I like it ;D

Gratitude Thread!

Black Books is back on Netflix! I fell asleep watching the one in the summer, Bernard talking about his summer girl and Manny all worried about it getting over 88F. Great show!

Finished Whats Happened to Politics, the Bob Rae book. It was good, but certainly preaching to the choir. Some interesting thought on the Aboriginal/First Nations peoples in Canada that I think I want to read more about, but I feel it will be highly depressing so maybe that will take a backburner.

Oooh new short stories! *adds to list*

I reconnected with an old colleague. We'd email randomly since I left but it was along while since the last chat. He emailed this week and I realized how much I missed him, that we're more than just old work mates but actual friends. So we have plans to catch up & see a movie this weekend!

awesome! That's the best kind of misreading!

oh, it makes sense now that I've read it. Margaret's hair back to grey totally speaks to the 6 week timeline.

Yes, Margaret really did look old and sad. And I think you're right, about the decision sticking and no longer limited resources.

Right! Connor McHockey, how could I forget that kid?!
