Meh. My mom made my costumes and I hated it. I never got to be anything cool.

My mom (who is a total prude) and I were talking about this over the weekend. I showed her the pictures and she was like, "Big deal. She went to some holiday party in college and had fun? What does this have to do with her being able to do her job?"

These kids are so freaking cute! I love that they're all obviously wearing their meeting the president outfits.

@raphaela: Up the road at UNT. I was not allowed to wear makeup until I was 16. To make matters worse I had skipped a grade, too. By the time I was able to wear makeup I was ready to graduate.

@TwoRandomPennies: I'll have to try that. The story seems interesting, but I just can't get into it yet.

@Ponytail: Maybe I should try it on audiobook. I'm trying so hard to read it, but...I just can't get into it.

@raphaela: Odd. I went to a couple of different schools. Middle class and college in the area and never felt that. (I was even in drill team.)

@raphaela: I'm from the DFW metroplex area and have NEVER heard this.

@dizzywulf: Yes. It's weird that everyone's reactions is "OMG, TX!!!".

@Miss Suka: Yeah. I'm a bit irritated by the whole, "but they're in TX" and some of the generalizations that are going on here.
