That would have been a good question for G.G. Allin, but alas, he ate his last fuck long ago.

It's because they all have such perfectly flawless, ridiculously unblemished skin. Except for that one guy.
This is a really good point. I like "Drive", and I view at as an exercise in "What if your hero/heist guy is a real loner/weirdo?" (as opposed to "human being" I guess) but that's undercut a bit by this not-at-all realistic romance. It sort of wants it both ways.
Gus Van Sant is just going to do a shot-by-shot remake of his commandment. BORING
Call thine mother, for she worrieth that thou'st worketh too hard and eateth poorly.
Whoa, thank you! That's why I love coming here. Where else can I get recommendations for films on historical topics of interest, and from a Norman no less!
A movie about the Night Witches… now that would really be something. I read an obit on one of their more prominent members earlier this year and it was simultaneously powerful and really, profoundly sad. She basically risked her life for her country in the most daring way possible, and after the war it was all like…
On the whole I like the movie (and as many others have noted, Holden is fantastic in it) but the shifts in tone are too much for me to rank it in my (admittedly arbitrary) personal classics list. And the part with the female Russian pilots just about threw me out of the movie. To think of how actual female Russian…
What a harrowing story. Thank you very much for sharing. Were you able to hear this direct from your Grandfather, or did you hear it from other members of your family? I only ask because my maternal grandfather saw quite a bit of action in the Pacific (though thankfully was not a POW) but he passed on before I was…
It's one of the toughest forms to work in. It's like:
That final standoff scene? Needs at least 30 more cuts.
Very much so. I wish I could recall the details better, but in the last WWII history I read (Beevor's "Second World War") I remember reading there was a great deal of "Not Wanting to Die So The Brits Can Keep Their Empire" sentiment in the U.S., pre-Pearl Harbor.
Seconded. Reggae is a genre that I have always been curious about, and I know just about nothin' about it. Looking forward to checking these out.
Fair point, truly. I just… can't resist bizarro ICP-related stories. I can easily resist thinly-veiled classist stories on the likes of Olive Garden menus, Honey Boo-Boo, hell, Nickleback. But ICP… It's like some atavistic set of teeth that should have fallen out after high school.
It's close though. You can use either in the event of Jellyfish stings.
Raiders fans have suffered enough this past decade-plus. I mean, losing a Super Bowl to Brad Johnson was the HIGHLIGHT of that period.
So far so good!
"More like CitySHARTS!"
Actually, that's a myth.
Well, at least I learned something. That Buzz has been married for twenty years! And not to Dale Crover!
