I get him mixed up with Mark Wahlberg all the time, and now I don’t have to worry about differentiating them as they are now similar levels of awful.

Pulling a declared pledge from a nonprofit is always slimey, regardless of whether or not your ultimately donate somewhere else. Especially as someone with a $20M+ net worth, he could afford to donate to both ADL and somewhere he felt more of an affinity to.

It’s like it’s not possible for him to donate anonymously. Or donate to ADL AND somewhere else. This was absolutely the stupidest course to take.

That honestly made it so. much. worse. because that casting was flawless.

Aaaannd he pulled the donation.

It’s literally right in the article.

The huge donation

I wish the article had mentioned that! I was kind of conflicted about the whole thing until I read your comment, because I was thinking it was the other way around.

Jeffrey Epstein still committed suicide after his victims went to the police. Going to the police is often not a effective means for victims to receive justice or even to spread the word about an abuser (see: the original gag order and subsequent very light sentence Epstein received).

Please, God, let someone have copied that word document of all the women he’s ever “slept with” (aka assaulted).

Yeah, she basically just played herself as Hermione. No one is mad about that, but she’s not a good actor in that every time you see her on screen you just think “There’s Hermione (Emma Watson).”

That, and the ones where there’s a MovieTickets.com tie-in.

The trailers tell me Octavia Spencer wasn’t playing a magically wise Negro whose love redeems the wayward child

People don’t change, so please don’t be with someone because you want them to change or they say they will at some point down the line.

I’m a woman, and I agree completely with your take (apart from the gender stereotype). Loyalty is earned through trust and mutual respect, not amount of time being friends.

If my original friend became a huge dick, and his or her significant other turned out to be a way better person or someone I would prefer to

Judging by the comments of christian women on this thread, apparently a lot of church communities are stuck in the 1960's when it comes to how to treat people who get divorced. Of course, only towards the female congregation members... Because, like gay people, they really just don’t get the same rights as straight,

How about that biblical position on... let’s see *licks finger* *flips through the Bible*

Eating shellfish?

I feel like game is equally appropriate here, tho XD

Like, if this girl had turned to a teacher, trusted community member (pastor, librarian, etc), this would have had a different outcome.

The problem with capital punishment being used as an analogue here is that capital punishment is a judiciary sentence. She had already tried to call the cops repeatedly, told friends and family, and had NO OTHER options. I’m sure she would have loved for him to be locked up for a while, but law enforcement wouldn’t
