The Cosby joke worked in a live stage way. It’s a “have to be in the audience” kind of skit, and the cameras should have panned their uncomfortable shifting, looking at eachother rather than just staying on the stage. That was definitely a direction error.

I don’t know who summarised the books like that, but they were very wrong. It reads like good historical fiction with fantasy elements woven in. There are important relationships, but they are never depicted as they would be in harlequin.
