I was at this game with my kid - what with Amartey’s injury, some of the ‘fans’ kicking off afterwards as we were leaving, and then, obviously worst of all by far, the horrifying helicopter crash, it turned into a horrible, miserable evening.

In think we all know what needs to happen. All the main characters are killed except Ant Man and Doctor Strange, who for some reason are recast as Ken Jeong and Brian Blessed (doesn’t matter which). And one of them is a werewolf.

Exactly. The show, like all shows and all popular culture really, offers a broad range of potential pleasures, and one of those pleasures, a very central one, is Rick’s vicious self regard.

Rick and Morty does that interesting thing that dime novels and gangster movies used to do - it condemns its mostly reprehensible central character all the time, but also allows viewers to revel in and tacitly celebrate their transgressive, anti-social qualities. (Lots of pop culture does it, then and now). But…

I’m British, and I’ve been working in Paris quite a lot recently. I would say that very few people in Britain will care massively about Trump either way. We just voted for Brexiteers of all fucking things. Don’t worry about it.

I don’t think they will reboot them, but I do think they will start to diminish their status as canon, especially as Disney have staked their claim to the OT and to the more distant future of the SW universe.
