First off, it’s Dwayne.
First off, it’s Dwayne.
These things take time. This series (and more specifically the title “Nora from Queens”) is likely one step in a multi-year process of transitioning away from the name. When 50 Cent or Ludacris first started to show up in movies they weren’t going by “Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson” or “Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges” until…
“It’s okay to think it wasn’t malicious and also think this is the right call.”
It bugs me so much when I’m on twitter and I see a headline from some site. So I click through on the link to the article. Then the article is just a bit of text around an embedded tweet. Now, if the tweet is a video or a meme or something and I want to actually see it, I have to click the embedded tweet which then…
Looking forward to this. I’ve liked her in a good amount of smaller roles in things. Have to still see The Farewell.
They go out of their way to tell you that this is the studio that made those Spider-Man movies, show you Spider-Man on the wall with “murderer” spray painted over it indicating this is in the MCU, and then have a huge name actor, who hadn’t been announced for this movie, show up at the end for a one line spot. If…
This show and Hannibal are the two examples I always give when people complain about TV adaptations of existing movies. There have been plenty of bad ones that don’t “get it”. But these two specific examples show that it can be done well. Two of my favorite series of the last decade come from turning a movie into a…
I do have a problem when the same guy says both X and not X at different points concerning what happened in that off-screen time. Abrams had a response to why Leia wasn’t a Jedi in the immediate run-up and aftermath to The Force Awakens. And the response was “she decided against it, because the Resistance needed her.”…
Eh....I just don’t have much of a problem when it comes to things like “stuff happened off screen” when so much time has passed. There wasn’t any real convenient time to have her reveal this info in the past two movies.
She has the force in the original trilogy. Uses it to sense Luke is alive and her brother.
My biggest problem with that scene is that it just made me want to see a whole movie of Luke training Leia in the ways of the force. Same with Rey running the training course in the beginning. I kind of want to see they learn and improve and get better. Leia and Luke sparring in the woods was great.
I’m not saying that there’s a twist. I just kind of feel like it’s similar to when you’re told “there’s a twist” in a movie and now I’ll be looking out for it/thinking about it instead of just investing in the movie. Leading up to this movie there’s been a constant discussion about whether or not it would walk back…
I’m relaxed.
I guess I should just give up on being annoyed/surprised at spoiler headlines. I know this doesn’t reveal specifically what but this is one of those “There’s a twist in the movie” type spoilers where now I know they’re walking things back. Thanks. My fault for being on an entertainment site but at least headlines…
I guess it depends. My experience for this was really silent throughout. Definitely had a respectful crowd that night. Now, if you ask me about Knives Out, which I had to go see a second time because the first half was ruined by the person next to me talking and speculating at full volume before I moved seats? Yeah,…
This article says exactly that. How is that a misrepresentation? Did you even read the article?
Um
For me, it’s less about wanting to look at KDR and more about removing it from the game but then offering it back for money. It’s more the principle of the thing even if I wouldn’t really be that bothered by not seeing KDR.
I learned about “quid pro quo” from Silence of the Lambs, so in my mind it started in this medium lol
It’s an alternate earth Batman. I’m okay with that. We’ve already seen that alternate earth heroes can go against the values of the “real” ones we see each week on the shows. Having Kara and Oliver as nazis doesn’t taint my view of the “real” Supergirl and Green Arrow.
