This video randomly turned up in my FB feed last week. I remember thinking that it must be cool to be a celebrity, if you get to meet Koko. I loved Mork as a kid, and I'm not okay with this. Robin Williams was the first person who made me see the power of humor. When I grew up, I wanted to be either Mork or Muhammad

Yes! Good stories about his life and works, please

This is the anniversary of the day my aunt killed herself. The three amazing kids she left behind were just posting about suicide prevention and mental illness understanding on Facebook today.

It sucks. It sucks for everyone. I wish more people got this, I wish there were more understanding. I wish this didn't happen.

Can we please mod out all the assholes who make stupid jokes and puns and otherwise cheer that he's dead. We don't need to give them any more of a platform for their nastiness.

If a person's success in life can be measured by how many people they helped to keep going no matter what by bringing laughter to their hearts and reminding them of the sheer joy of living, then I have to say: hands down, Mr. Robin Williams, you won. Thank you for all the times you touched my heart and made me keep

Tell us! That sounds like a great story, and maybe we can celebrate his work in that way.

Look at how happy EVERYONE ELSE is for him. He was beloved. Always.

Oh no. This is heartbreaking.

The Left Behind series (which was forced upon me by a relative, and which I read just out of curiosity) addresses this issue. Every pregnant woman on earth becomes not-pregnant. The authors then spin this into an anti-abortion tirade by gleefully going about how all the abortion clinics go out of business because no

"Totalitarian"

It's totalitarian to laugh at willful idiots? I can say my opinion about someone who's fucking up their children on purpose. There's nothing totalitarian about that. What dictionary are you using over there?

Most crazies have a belief in an "age of accountability" (generally accepted to be around 12) that nicely skirts that abortion-Barbie God problem.

Let's say a pregnant woman gets raptured, but her fetus (who has not been baptized) does not. Did god just perform an abortion? How would pro-lifers feel about this?

Willful ignorance SHOULD be laughed at, and those who perpetuate it should be shamed. Their kids shouldn't be forced to be brought up as ignoramuses, either.

I feel there are many good reasons to pull kids out of school and then refuse to educate them in any way. I will list them all here:

actual thought as a young child, regarding christian faith and prayer: "why does God need to be told how great he is all the time? Every single prayer has a line about this and usually several" Seriously though, why does he need a chorus of beings created solely to heap praise upon him? Why did he also create a

I know, right?! The traffic is going to be really light in the days following.

Annnd this is why we also need to enforce common core science curriculum that does not allow for any more of this climate denier nonsense, evolution "debate", etc.

I am fully prepared for the rapture. I just thought you'd all want to know.
