It’s worse than that. Only 15 of those games aren’t fighters. And of those 6 of them are Metal Slug.

False, it’s unwritten doctrine that you must always buy at least 2 controllers, often in fun/unique colors, arbitrarily select one of those as “the only controller you shall use” and let the other(s) sit fully charged next to your console for the rest of eternity or at least until your battery dies or you have a guest

I dunno, for me that's a pretty good selling point. With Play Anywhere titles I can swap between my PC and my Xbox. But with the Xbox One I'm taking a significant hit to my quality. That shouldn't be the case on the Series X. It's convenient for houses where the main TV is shared. It's obviously a YMMV scenario. 

I remember the days of wanting a 100+ hours of gameplay from a title. Then I got deeper into my career and only wanted that if it was an exceptional game too. Now there’s more of those games available but I’ve got young kids so fuuuuuuck that. Ten hours is great. I can get through the game and move onto other things

Fair enough. I’ll offer you a different take on valuation—not to disagree with yours, but because learning about how other people see things can be worthwhile (I definitely appreciated your approach!).

Fable is one of those series that every single criticism I’ve ever heard is completely accurate and I love it. Something about the tone and aesthetic bull rushes past every single game play lie and shortcoming.

Just to note, it’s also coming to all other consoles, including the Switch.

Length works for some games. Others, not so much. Sometimes I want a succinct, crafted experience that’s not excessively drawn out or, worse yet, padded with mindless junk

Good question, and it’s one I can really only answer from my perspective... I’ve found it gripping from day to day, for sure. Multiple times I’ve had that itch to wrap up work so I can start playing. But I’ve found it annoying to play for lengthy sessions. Usually after an hour or two, it’s, like, all right, I get it,

I’m guessing that’s just one review. We all know just how badly Alien: Isolation was reviewed. Or God Hand for that matter (I took personal umbrage to this one since I loved it). I’d still be willing to pick this up if it doesn’t reek of Far-Cry-ness.

I like my retro games with straight up pixel doubling. No blurring, no effects. If Minecraft can get away with it, why not SNES games?  This is also why I use PC-based emulation - to have the choice.
