Probably the most surprising thing about this story is how the comments are being...rational...informative...and disagreeing without devolving into a clusterfuck.

Nothing against what you like! I just get miffed when someone is like “old games are trash and we’ve evolved past them”

I’ve played Super Mario World so many times in my life, and every time I start it up again, I play it until I see credits roll.

Where’s Nam ‘75, Super Spy, Crossed Swords, Windjammers, Last Resort, Ninja Combat, Mutation Nation.

A lot of these look cool...and also look like they’ll end up on Switch or PC.

Forgot about those unwritten doctrines!

When we went from 360 to Xbox One, and PS3 to PS4, there wasn’t upheaval over the old controllers being incompatible with the new systems.

Now I’ll need to buy another five special edition controllers and color variants only to use one of them consistently.

The animation reminds me of something you’d find on PBS. Something like Word Girl. Like very Flash-ish with lots of ‘bounce’ on movements.

So now it’s like...no one with a console has to go without it? That’s great!

I replaced both my PSP and 3DS batteries for this reason. Each had had their battery capacities depleted by like 70-80% and when I opened them up to check, the batteries were dangerously swollen.

That’s true, but if the value proposition is “pay us $600+ so you can play in an extra room” then I’m not sure that’s a strong argument.

Feels like if they had called it PSO3 it would be less confusing.

but also, “play this on your PC” means...who gives a shit about Series X?

losing them millions of dollars to piracy.

I don’t think Microsoft cares. I think they want you to get their Game Pass - whether it’s on PC or Xbox is immaterial at this point.

Which is exactly where I will play it!

I liked what they announced! Except, even the exclusives I think “this will end up on the Windows Game Pass at some point,” which deflates any excitement I have for the system itself.

Even though it’s from Image & Form, I don’t think this is a SteamWorld game. In that universe, there are no humans left, and every entry in the series has “SteamWorld” in the title. This is just The Gunk.

Agreed - since I’ve been tackling like one region a day, or playing until I finish a ‘dungeon’, I’m having so much more fun with it. The combat stays invigorating, the areas are fun to explore, and the writing is pretty funny!
