Bagel Goose

Hey it’s one of the other few folks who liked FFXI! :D

For me it’s all about playing the first open world game that made exploration its core theme.

I used to joke with him that I’d take a trip to SF just to go to a Sketch Bomb.

Bayo 2 would literally not exist without Nintendo’s money. It’s effectively a first party game, no matter how much stamping of feet there is.

Splatoon’s good, Breath of the Wild’s bow aiming is too.

I think both are super useful in their own ways. That’s why I bundle them up into ‘motion aiming’ - that’s really the crux of their appeal. Making finer aiming possible through actual movement, than relying on a stick to do it.

YES!!!

What will they think of next?

You’re adorable.

Once upon a time, you could walk right into a store and get a Wii U.

Totally agreed! Like, if that Switch collection was announced for localization tomorrow, I’d be pre-ordering the heck out of it. And I already have SoM on the mini SNES, and the remake...

I’m right here with you, except I do like the look. It’s ‘rudimentary’ only compared to other games released today. But it’s very devoted to taking all the background spritework and replicating it as painterly textures that retain the original patterning. It’s not bad, but maybe people were hoping for more.

Right, if anything my complaint is they’re too exacting in the gameplay department. Bad AI pathing and all.

Don’t agree with that first half, 100000% agree with the second half.

They took a thing of beauty and watered it down with a boring, low-poly graphical style with no personality.

But I could argue the same for it being on any system. You may value Uncharted. Not everyone does. And so on.

But you have to buy a console in the first place, either way.
