Go for it - my niece was the same age when she got Pokémon X/Y, and had the same interests in games. Had a lot of fun with it. Didn’t hurt that she had uncles who could trade with her :p

Yep, you should get their biggest fan of Forza reviewing this, so they can have no clue how it plays or stacks up to it’s legacy. It’s the only way!

I’d recommend trying a 2DS out before making a decision. The screen is smaller but the feel/grip is remarkably good. Plus, saving $100+ would be a benefit?

Except I can’t recall a 16-bit game with this much animation. Or wide color palette. Or ability to put so much on screen that looks good scaled way out, or zoomed in on. Not to mention, as others have said, Shantae games come in it at $20 and no one seems to bat an eye at that. So this ‘half the price’ bit sounds like…
