I’m a little disappointed in myself for not getting into Black Panther. The more I read from you writing about him, the more and more interesting he seems.

Makes perfect sense.
Yeah, I don’t remember praises sung to the high heavens about Iron Man 3 (a stinker) or The First Avenger (I liked it, but get why folks don’t). Ant Man was received lukewarmly and Avengers 2 was already seeing steady hate before it left theaters.
I understand the utility of such actions, but don’t feel it makes it any more morally okay. Let’s blend two of your examples: family as the smallest unit of society.
I don’t have an issue with what’s being depicted though. I think it’s important to show the nasty side of things if it drives a point or helps a player feel more invested to action.
Rouse reasons that even a relatively well-meaning cult leader in a jungle might not have a better option than public corporal punishment to get a malcontent in line and back to farming or whatever other jobs the compound needs done. Not ideal, of course!
So wait, a videogame where socialists can be portrayed as bad guys? And Kotaku’s talking about it? And in a tone where this can be ‘controversial’ and ‘offensive’ not ‘boring’ and ‘bigoted?’
I KNOW RIGHT?
I have an(other) artist crush~!
I’m really excited for both of these things!
Ask Intel why they did this. Or Bioware. Or any number of other game industry entities that bow down to this pressure.
And yet, when Bioware refused to help her, I didn’t see Gamers scream for a Bioware boycott. But here? Let’s do it! Because Nintendo!
So it’s the attacked’s fault that they were continually attacked, because they weren't willing to shut up and disappear when attacks began.
Just every dev, more like. I've seen these same incentives with expiration dates in Infamous, Dying Light, SFV, Destiny, CoD...
Macho Man Zangief is LEGIT.
probably very little - there’s WonderCon out here, and Easter on Sunday. So...maybe whatever games my nieces are into?
So your only point of posting wasn’t to address the actual content of the article, but to just take a huge steaming dump on people who like things you don’t.
Because Every Year is the End of Nintendo (tm). And to help that along, games sites will regurgitate rumors until all the ‘savvy’ Gamers take it as universal truth. Look at NX - there is officially NOTHING about it, yet Gamers now talk matter-of-factly how it’s out this year and Zelda U will launch on it. NOTHING…
But see consoles aren’t about games - they’re about tech specs, Gamer ‘culture’, popularity contests, and third party support (to hell with if the games are any good).
I cannot wait to get home and try this.
