I agree. Though I think they did a good job given their time frame.
Redlining is HUGE.

Our schools remain separate and unequal. I’m so angry people tried to teach me that the 60s were the end of the battle.

I only believed because I was a child and my family was well off. As an adult I saw what most black people faced

Please don’t do that with percents. Your 133% is misleading. It’s a 10% improvement. And that’s huge and well worth the cost of the program.

I think it’s a very important point. A 10% gap is still highly significant.

Lots of black people would like NASCAR, but those flags (really the people holding the flags) make the “sport” seem scary.

I’m a “lapsed baptist” (PNBC which is the baptist version of AME) — I’m basically an atheist. But I never found any friction in church over that ... which must be hard to comprehend. Church means more than religion and many people but especially white atheists can’t comprehend that.

I’ve never connected with this issue in the way that many here seem to. For some family generations ago an informal unofficial name change was the only symbol of their union. Getting a new name has been wonderful, it’s too often that people assume we are not together. The matching names make it plain as day. This is a

It is really hard for me to sympathize with someone complaining about being called beautiful. It’s not something I heard as a little girl, as a teen or as a young woman from female friends.

Apple isn’t being “sensitive” or “oversensitive” —they are looking out for their bottom line and since they have so few black employees no one was there to tell them “No, this isn’t what’s offensive.”

I think that courts do tend to favor women in custody battles for basically sexist heteronormative reasons. MRA act like this problem eclipses all of the sexism women face.

The men’s rights movement used to have a few rational people, people who highlighted important issues like prison rape and the stigma that men face

The War On Drugs is a wonderful thing.

The silliness seems to be a direct function of total time spent parenting and caring for the needs of kids. The silliest dads I know had stay at home wives or where simply less involved in parenting. The men that I know who are the primary care giver tend to be more serious.

I don’t know if it’s just more exhausting

I hate listening to white people complain how “there is nowhere affordable to live in NYC” when what they mean is there are no affordable places with significant white populations. (not that the majority black and Latino neighborhoods are affordable for most of the people who live there.)

It must be interesting to have so many restaurants in your neighborhood that you can protest a new one for serving cheap food. I just can sympathize with the misery of gentrified. This new york neighborhood has hardly any food options.

It’s because of race.

Dylann Stormfront Roof

If a black person shot up a white church MULTIPLE black people would be dead, not just the shooter.

I don’t support the death penalty *because* in cases like this nothing’s going to hold me back from hoping he gets it. The only way to avoid falling victim to the trap of vengeance is to take it off the table in advance. But it is on the table, so:

Kill him, he’s a waste of human life. I don’t want to see his face

Also, if they do pick Tubman it should be a young engraving of her.
The photos are from late in her career.

I’m going to make my own Angela Davis money.

Hamilton deserves his place on the ten. We need to get rid of Jackson.
