I am genuinely perplexed by the thought process that could have led to this. In what binge-drinking, drug-addled stupor could one consider FOOD an interesting facet of popular culture? Furthermore, who thought anyone that frequents THIS site would be cool with seeing food-related puff articles plastered all over the

I would. Scott Lang was a well-developed character, as was Hank Pym. The character dynamics were fun, the action was spectacular, and the story was satisfying. I can't think of a single scene in the movie where I was wishing the Avengers would show up…

Yeeeeah… Coulson's friendliness and ultimate ineffectuality fit the fun tone the movie was going for. Doesn't change the fact that, narratively speaking, they were just supposed to be men-in-black type G-men. In fact, I think the first draft of the script called for Coulson to actually work for the C.I.A.— Jon Favreau

Uh… I'm not saying cinematic universe references are a BAD thing. I'm just pointing out that they're not narratively essential… And their absence doesn't mean that Booster Gold can't be a part of the DCEU, eventually.

Yeah, but under all that shoehorned-in bullsh*t in Ant-Man, the movie is basically a self-contained heist film. The in-universe references were obviously crammed in by Marvel after Edgar Wright left. The movie didn't NEED them.

Yeah, but S.H.I.E.L.D. was just a shadowy government agency at that point. It didn't have to become anything more than guys in black suits, if they didn't want it to be. They could have been C.I.A., for all it mattered.

I feel like I should point something out.

Uh… Thanks?

DC Rebirth has rekindled my interest in a LOT of books, just by virtue of getting back to the core of what made the characters really great.

I heard they can do that now, too. Apparently they've worked out a deal with Universal that applies this season onward.

After watching the movie. I read it before I saw the movie, and in hindsight, I had no idea what the hell they were thinking.

They actually gave Suicide Squad four stars… which, after watching the movie, left me genuinely shocked and disappointed.

But it was also endlessly marketed as the glorious return of the Joker to the big screen— a character who's not only one of the most well-known villains in pop fiction, but also fresh off of Heath Ledger's Oscar win in 2008. The fact that the Joker's barely IN the movie doesn't change the fact that audiences probably

I'm cool with that, too… but like I said, I'd love it if they integrated Levy's Mia character into the show. She was the best thing in the remake, without a doubt— and moreover, her introduction would open a lot of narrative doors in Ash vs. Evil Dead. For one thing, she obviously wasn't reading the same Book of the

Oh, snap! I was wondering what Fede Alvarez was up to these days (especially since he dropped out of making an Evil Dead 2 to do it). Ditto for Jane Levy, who just blew my mind with how good she was in Alvarez's Evil Dead. I'm glad to hear they're keeping a winning partnership alive, in what sounds like a pretty

And the great thing is, Wilson improvised it on the day. The original line was just "make the a tree and leave".

… Uh, forty years of prior pop culture exposure or no, it still helps to be able to build good movies around the characters. I'm talking about basic storytelling here.

While I'm definitely keen on seeing this movie get made, I feel like Warners needs to suceed with at LEAST two mainstream DC films before I can get excited about a misfit team of magical weirdos, no matter WHO'S directing.

I could see them pulling that kind of stunt, but I really hope they don't. Counterpointing the noble, heroic Clark at the beginning of the season to the twisted, xenophobic Henshaw near the end would be the much stronger dramatic choice.

Not to mention the fact that Henshaw is likely responsible for the kidnapping of Jeremiah Danvers, noted early on as one of the foremost authorities on Kryptonian biology in general and Superman's biology specifically… and that Danvers is being held at Project Cadmus, the most prominent cloning facility in the DC
