So he's the MVP of the also-rans. Sounds about right to me.

Eh… he may be a little too husky to put on the ol' spandex at this point.

Funny thing, the possibility of Henshaw being the Manhunter literally only occured to me an hour before watching this episode (I guess I missed the comments that called this particular twist). But when I heard this episode had a big character reveal, and it occured to me that Jemm was a Manhunter villain, I put two

Of course! It all makes sense now— Lady Cop is the love interest. I should have realized that when it became obvious that she was the flattest, dullest character in the series.

Time is gonna tell on that one.

The funny thing is, I was TOTALLY willing to look past his silly costume, as long as the story they built around him was worthwhile and he was dynamic enough on screen. Too bad he was a cipher in pretty much every respect— a convenient thing for Kara to hit, rather than a character. Hell, just as they were hinting

No. No no no. Don't do this, Arrow. Don't go back to mopey, secret-keeping Oliver. You were doing SO good.

Oh. Oh, crap.

Okay, I love Supergirl so far, and I am thrilled that the show was picked up for a full season… but God DAMN, this episode was just dreadfully written.

That mask was NOT made for protracted, dramatic, brightly-lit close-ups.

Oh, come on— no love for Batman Returns?

That would be cool, and I'm betting it could be done… but Supergirl on the CW would have to have a RADICALLY reduced budget. I don't want to see this show go smaller… I want to see it eventually go BIGGER, maybe even bringing Brainiac or Darkseid into the mix.

Okay, I just started hearing these rumblings about Supergirl getting cancelled a couple of days ago, and it's genuinely starting to piss me off.

Uhh, I'm pretty sure his political leanings had nothing to do with it. They weren't mentioned once. Sinestro just called him out on being cynical, and said that his will wasn't adequate to use the ring.

Yeah, I have no doubt that the color will seem fine in the context of the movie itself. But for a trailer featuring Captain America fighting Iron Man, it just doesn't seem colorful enough.

That's funny… I remember back when they were casting Winter Soldier, I got pissed because the film had Bucky, Falcon, AND Black Widow. I felt like it would be too packed with other characters to focus on Cap.

Not gonna lie— the desaturated color palette is a little annoying.

… Alright, I give you that. But to be honest, I kinda feel like Eisenberg's Lex Luthor might be one of the best things about Batman v. Superman. Still, he's probably gonna be a completely different animal than any of the previous Lexes, so Lord can still fill that void.

Okay, no mention in this review of the fact that Maxwell Lord is now a confirmed Lex Luthor knock-off?

Wild Wild West is as close as we're ever gonna get to that, I'm afraid.
