This is well-written and informative. Thank you for taking the time to write it. Christ on a cracker, as if there weren't enough bad urban legends out there.

"...when it comes to what is available for purchase, boys' shorts typically are knee length anyway while 75% or more of girl's are too short and therefore it takes a lot of effort to find anything a girl could wear at all other than long pants."

Maybe, maybe not. But then, where does the treatment as adults end? Would you advocate for trying teens who commit crimes as adults, or as juveniles?

I actually agree with you on this one. The headline seems salacious at first, but the article presents a pretty damning argument on the state of the healthcare system and its interactions with the criminal justice system.

This is a great article, thank you for writing it.

I actually laughed out loud at this. You're probably right, but then again, I spit into the wind.

Of course you do. But you expressed disgust at the advice police officials had given. It isn't their fault that a rapist was loose in the park. So why be angry at them?

I did not, and no problem!

No, of course not. But I acknowledged that until they were caught, I was taking my life into my own hands. That was my choice, and as much as I feared the potential consequences, I did it anyway.

That's your right, re: terminology. But as much as you choose to use charged language specifically to provoke discomfort, you must recognize that discomfort disinclines people to have conversation.

I remember when a couple of gunmen were fleeing cops in my neighborhood as a kid. The advice was to stay indoors.
