🤣 reading this to my wife and I just trailed off with “get out the fucking guillotines”

buying a used ferrari from a mitsubishi lot seems like quite the gamble!

I know the comps because I’m one of the few people that love this car (had two).  It’s actually fair.  I’ve seen one @ 10k and one somewhere north of $7k, neither this clean, and those are the only two I’ve seen worth buying in the last few years.  There aren’t a lot of us but there aren’t a lot of the wagons either,

Love the box chevies, owned multiple, I just have never been able to like these bubble ones.

I’ve had two of these, an ‘81 and an ‘89 (the Titanic and the TwoTanic). It’s crazy where prices have gone but for the dozen or so of us that love them, that’s what they command. I think I paid $1,500 and $800 for mine in the late 90s and early 2000s, and the last one I saw this clean (I keep an eye out!) went for

I’m at 198 and, as evidence by my avatar, once liked this site enough to get a license plate of it. Fuck Spanfeller.

So being an independent contractor you’re not necessarily out on your ass completely. I’m waiting to hear how the verification will work, but if you need to self-quarantine for two weeks because you’re sick, you will be able to claim a tax credit of your average two-week income, up to $511/day. If you need to take

This was fascinating, thanks for writing it!

Hey I recognize that car!

Indeed. When I bought an R it came with an extra full housing assembly that I sold for more than I’ve paid for some running cars.

USAA paid like $3800 to repair my S60R after a *pothole* incident. I sold the car almost immediately after that.

Let’s see that swapped Volvo wagon!

The neon was the first car that I bought because it was really a car I wanted and not just what I could afford when I needed a car. My BIL had let me borrow his when I was 16 and it had a special place in my heart. It also taught me the value of cars with a bit of a following, so I could actually buy parts made for it

I had one! Technically two, but I manual-swapped the NA.

Thanks for this. It’s easy to forget humanity, especially when it comes to faceless, nameless “bad guys”

Is that what the old volvo is? I was thinking 244 for some reason. Either way, sweet!

Thanks for the background! There’s so much to see out there I usually get overwhelmed and just start taking pics of whatever I think looks good that day, and rarely hear any backstory

FWIW:

Found more!

Because I totally boned posting these, let me try to do them in order:
