lol global warming will NOT be good for Canada. Unless you want 250 million heavily armed, functionally-illiterate illegal American immigrants streaming through your completely undefended borders.

You may want to rethink that a bit. People in bad places want to go to better places even it’s risky. Think about how the ME has mass migrations to the north. What do you think will happen when people see how Canada is so much better than other places?
Guess I’ll take my four plus decades of environmental expertise somewhere else. The writers here don’t like their bad reporting being called out. There, that outta buy me some perma-grey.
Its a shame those embracing authoritarianism whether deliberate or unconsciously, fail to see said authoritarians are exactly the problem driving this.
What did I do to get greyed? I’ve been a loyal Earther commenter for years.
I keep trying to tell people, it’s not going to just suddenly start getting cooler, it’s going to keep getting warmer if we remain on this course. Year after year after year, each one warmer than the one before. Society will start failing and I don’t think people fully understand or are willing to face what that…
But we had a taste of what might happen. Think about it. When COVID started, meat packing plants shut down and toilet paper was being sold on eBay. Politicians did nothing. When the power grids failed in Texas this past winter and people froze to death, Ted Cruz went to Mexico. There’s not going to be a big wake up…
So you’re saying it’s her fault?
Nobody can predict the amount of rage that’s about to come rolling down the pike directed at the very politicians and industries that have prevented any and all meaningful climate change mitigation strategies. Once grids start failing and massive numbers of humans start baking to death in major US cities, you can be…
This is what it’s going to take. When the everyday citizen starts not just feeling the effects, but being affected by them, but by that time it’s nothing but uphill battle to do anything about it.
We either need Mr. Burns’ sun blocker or a dome of air conditioning out here.
I came to Portland to get away from the ex and because nothing grows in Denver. I thought the fires in the front range were bad I can't wait to see what happens out here!
We just had a week of 117 with AC and I wouldn’t recommend it either.
Yeah, a friend of mine moved from Florida to Seattle 6 months ago and has been insta-flexing on all the awesome hiking and views of Mt. Rainier.
Las Vegas checking in to say fuck this shit. We either need Mr. Burns’ sun blocker or a dome of air conditioning out here.
I can’t imagine 110°F with no AC. I just finished off a week with 95°F and no AC and that sucked enough.
Seattle here. Not looking forward to it. Our houses are designed to stay warm and cozy through all the rain, and temperatures rarely start to cool until after midnight. Adding on top of this a visit from the mother-in-law and.... I don’t really know what’s going to happen, but I’ve got a go-bag ready...
The forecast has us beating our all time high temperature on Monday. In fucking June. Shit’s broken.
Time to see if I can telecommute from a kiddy pool for the next couple of weeks...
Usually the fires don’t start until around the beginning of August here in Antivaxxistan. I think they will be starting up well before that this year. Boise, Idaho had some bizarre wind and dry lightning event last night.
