Stop infantilizing adults.
Stop infantilizing adults.
Paula Dean (and her perv son) had it coming.
People like neat categories, but real life is messy. A transwoman can be a groundbreaking individual but also a horrible person. A director can make great movies but be a pedophile.
Courtney might both a victim of grooming, manipulation, and done extremely wrong by their parents, and also be kind of a crap person: I…
yea i saw that comment and thought it would be some offensive diatribe, but it’s really just describing the things as they happen and it just so happens that the reality was absurd.
It’s gobsmacking isn’t it?
Nearly a child? She was an a adult. You don’t have to turn her into something she wasn’t for her to still have been a victim.
That’s not in the “horrible child bride” link, so I had to google:
I’m glad Ms. Lewinsky has come out of this on the other side, but I refuse to apologize for giggling at cigars as sex toys and delivering pizza and showing thong.
Sounds like they owe us an apology first.
I really miss that caliber of prose on this site.
As the mother of a 16 year old, I find the fact that kids that young are legally allowed to marry full grown-ass adults abhorrent. All of this is deeply sad.
Let’s just look back at that AV Club article...
“We’re divorcing because with all of our films and touring on hold during the pandemic I literally could not take one more day seeing his stupid face. Being away from him was the only thing making this marriage doable. We will be sharing custody of our fleet of nannies and ask that you give us privacy during our…
Just once, I’d like to see a truly honest statement from a public couple about their divorce: “We’re divorcing because we can’t stand each other and got sick of alternating between screaming matches and passive-aggressive gaslighting, not to mention the trashy sidepiece. We’ll see who has the better lawyer and gets…
I mean, do you think it’s a stretch to say if he’s completely fine with Epstein that perhaps he’s a bit of a sleazeball himself? I don’t know how paranoid it makes me if I say “I don’t think you just oopsy-daisy hang out with a sex trafficker you know is a sex trafficker more than once!”
This is my favorite part of the celebrity public divorce dance. The nice cordial statement about how the split was mutual and everyone is friends and still love each other and everything’s fine then after a few days we get the slick leaks from “sources” like “They actually split because he cheated on her with 20 women…
Not sure of the laws in the state of concern, but here, if the kids are under 18 then you have to go through setting up managed trusts and things like that which aren’t a factor once they are older.
I don’t check the registry, but there’s also a requirement for notification of nearby residents, etc, when they change residences, employers, etc. It’s just odd to me that they can notify me if a homeless guy who peed in public is nearby but can’t let people know about actual child traffickers.
Does the sex offender registry just work differently for rich people? I get flyers if a homeless sex offender is sleeping in an alley in my neighborhood, but people are always like "Nobody knew about Epstein until 2018!"
this seems like a huge reach at best.
